This was an experiment today. Last night I finished honing this blade. It was an eBay purchase. I decided to see if I can hone entirely on JNats after the bevel set. I started on a Naniwa 1K for the bevel then progressed through an unidentified "midrange" natural to my Iwasaki Nakayama and then to the Ozuku. On each of the naturals, I used a meijiro slurry followed by a tomonagura slurry and then fresh water. I was a bit unsure when the shave started. First pass (WTG) left quite a bit of stubble. Second pass (XTG) left me nearly BBS. A HWS touchup pass left me with a very nice BBS and no irritation... I know I have a long way to go, but this was a great way to start learning these rocks!
Congratulations Bill, great find and wonderful accomplishment
