    Default Back to business

    Prep: Hot shower/Hot towel
Strop: Vintage A H Christians and Sons Waverley
    Brush: Comoy Badger
    Soap: Proraso
    Razor: Custom Simmons Barber's Pet
A/S: Nivea Replenishing Post Shave Balm
I havent used this razor for several months and I couldnt quite remember how well it was shaving. I was pleasantly suprised. A really sharp smooth egde, and I dig the Proraso scent, probably my favourite soap so far.
    A great shave all round.
Its nice to be home. Lots to do though. As you can see, the lawns are out of control. It just wont stop raning long enough for me to get them mowed. Maybe tomorrow.
    Have a great week gentlemen.

What a collection of shaves and pics, gentlemen, I am seated trying to assimilate them.... this is now the Superlative Shave of the Day thread :

    Today the spanish shaving gang:

    Brush: Vie-long 16726
Razor: Jose Monserrat Pou 14 "Medallon Taurino"
Strop: Ambrose cordovan #25 fabric, #50 leather
    Preshave: Myrsol emulsion
    Soap: Manantiales de la Toja
    Lotion: Manantiales de la Toja
    Clologne: Manantiales de La Toja

Sometimes the spanish products are underrated by the spanish people that sometimes prefer (I'm guilty too) exotic soaps and lotions from overseas than the regular La Toja or this version of Manantiales, .... In the other part, the overrated stuff, as the Filarmonicas and Palmeras, today is dificcult to find a razor in size 13 or 14 for less than 250 € ,.... some years ago it was easy to find beauties as the razor of the pic at a reasonable price.

BTW great shave. Have a great Sunday gentlemen!

Today, after not shaving for the last three days, I had a full set of whiskers.Wow, my beard is geeting very gray.
I took out a Torrey that i purchased from another SRP member that supposedly had been made shave ready. I soaked it in Barbicide, rinsed it in 91% alcohol. I then did the Lynn honing on the 4000-8000 Norton. From there is used .25 micron diamond, .5 Crox and then stropped 50 on felt and 75 on leather using the paddle.

Took a hot shower and really rubbed the Stephan's conditioning shave cream into the beard.

    Warm Oil
    Dirty Bird Scuttle
    Nancy Boy Cucumber shave cream
    New Forest Badger
    Torrey razor, Barbers notch
    AOS Aluminum
    Aramis conditioning after shave

The Torrey was Smooth. It glided through the whiskers effortlessly. Usually when I have this much of a beard I get pulling. Not today. I guess I did ok on the already set bevel.

I wanted to show the amount of whiskers that came off with the shave this morning along with the SOTD pic.

    Enjoy your Sunday.
