    Default My smoker contribution

    Location: 32°2805N 93°5516W
Music: The Band of Heathens – Live at Antones
    Prep: A very relaxing bath
    Preshave: Proraso
Scuttle: Irish Barber Shaving Bowl by Rosemarie Durr
Soap: Mitchell’s Wool Fat Shaving Soap
    Brush: New Forest 2211
Razor: Wade & Butcher Full Hollow
Balm: Manetti & Roberts Florentine Rosewater
After Shave: Nautica – Latitude Longitude
Result: 2 + touchup = BBS. A very relaxing start to the day. I love the Mitchell’s Wool Fat in this shaving bowl from Ms. Durr, it’s like they were made for each other and produced a beautiful lather. And I pulled out this bottle of Nautica after shave that was hidden in the back of the linen closet; a fragrance that I enjoyed before and then put away for who knows what reason. It was a Great Shave!

Todays shave was fantastic. I used my GN 24mm ST-A Brush. Man she whipped up the MWF if just a few strokes. Followed by CF Lime. Shaving with cool whip! Oh man am i addicted to this stuff. I took out my Josepd Smith & Son 31/32 Wedge. STEALTH SHAVER! So quiet with amazing results.

    Fantastic POST men!

There's a new old finisher in town and it's the Norton 8k! If you haven't felt the edge off of this hone, just try it. Seriously, I thought I have a crazy beard that could never be comfortable with an 8k edge. Every time someone said you should get great shaves off an 8k, I was skeptical. Well I tried it tonight, because I suspected that my recent edges were going wrong somewhere in the finishing stages and not in the 1k-4k-8k stages. I think I was right. The 8k edge on these two razors is phenomenal and I wouldn't even call it worse than an Escher or good JNat edge. Just a different type of edge IMO...

Enough rambling...maybe it was just the amazing lather tonight that made the razors seem so nice, lol.

-Filarmonica Especial Barbas Duras: in service after annoying work on the scales
-Toyo Hashimoto Scheon Burg: I like the new edge better than Martin's 10k edge!
-Honed on Shapton 1k, natural 3k stone, Norton 8k
-Stropped ~30 canvas/~40 leather on Kanoyama 50k strop
    -Thater Chubby brush
-Mitchell's Wool Fat soap with Kiss My Face Patchouli cream and glycerin

And now I'm sitting with a clay mask...go ahead and laugh

My photo was/is terrible (hard to take pictures at night, huh?) so I decided to make it look like an old summer-y TV ad:

EPBD and Scheon Burg in one shave? Simply amazing.........

....and you sir get a pass on the "clay mask" when you use a EPBD and a SB in the same shave. You actually deserve a full body wax and mud bath after that!
