This is my favorite keeping it simple shavette combo.

Nice combo...but, it's time for a real straight, LOL

    Mark,
The Henckels is one of those blades that you get addicted to, real quick. Enjoy it

    Mikael,
CONGRATULATIONS buddy. Enjoy it. Can't wait to see it on SOTD.

As I mentioned last night, the past couple of evenings have been busy and I never got around to shaving. Fortunately the Kropp made short work of the 3 day growth, and I love the menthol feel of Proraso on a hot evening.
I had company for this shave, Jack was watching me, poking his finger in my lather and trying on after shaves. I had to finish after 2 passes because he was getting a little too enthusiastic with his exploration. Still very smooth and satisfied after the 2 passes.
    Grant,
Real nice...It was worth the wait. Very well done. Nice of Jack to join you.

Great shave. Thanks to David for volunteering to hone this razor up for me, it certainly did the job of clearing my beard. However I think Im starting to lean more towards square/spike points rather then roundpoints, guess it just a preference.
Nice blade Matt...I thought you had all the honing figured out by now, but nice of David to help out

This shave features a brand new brush - a Vie-Long Boar bristle. This is the first boar bristle shaving brush I've purchased since my days in graduate school.

The photo was taken with my brand new Nikon D3100 and new NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G wide angle lens, both of which were Christmas gifts.
    Hey Monroe,
Great blade. I got one exactly like it and love it.

Congrats on two counts: 1) new brush, and 2) new camera. Enjoy them both in good health my friend.

Wow, what a shave! This razor has never been my favorite but I do believe this is the best shave I've ever had with it. It always just seemed to be one of those razors that no matter how much I honed and stropped it never got much better than just OK.
Congratulations on breaking the barrier with this blade.

Thanks Matt...I wouldn't go so far as call myself a convert yet. Shavemac is still my favorite brush by a large margin, but I do enjoy the Simpson brushes a lot. It'll take a lot more than a Simpson brush to make me "googoo gaga", LOL.
