    Default FRIDAY NIGHT/SATURDAY MORNING SHAVE

PREP: Hot shower with face scrub
    RAZOR: Tosho folding kamisori
    BRUSH: Frank shaving brush
SOAP: Uberlather with Tabac soap and Irish Moos cream
    ASTRINGENT: Thayers Unscented
    ASB: Skinfood
EDT: Jean Paul Gaultier "Le Male"
    RESULT: SUPER SMOOTH SHAVE

Great shave. Thanks to David for volunteering to hone this razor up for me, it certainly did the job of clearing my beard. However I think Im starting to lean more towards square/spike points rather then roundpoints, guess it just a preference. The uberlather was fantastic today and the Frank shaving brush made prepping my beard a joy. Follow it with some JPG "Le Male" and I am ready for a fantastic day.

    HAVE A GREAT ONE GUYS!!!!

    Default Saturday Morning

Prep: Hot shower--followed by Lucky Tiger “Molle’” Brushless SC
    Brush:
    Vie-Long 13710C Boar Bristle
    SS/SC:
    Erasmic + Cella
    Strop:
VB Red Latigo—50 fabric; 60 leather
    Razor:
    5/8 F W E Engels “Perfect Temper”
    Astringent:
    Dickinson’s Witch Hazel
    ASB:
    Nivea for Men “Extreme Comfort”
    AS
    Booster “Polar Ice”
    Result:
    Smooth as silk…

This shave features a brand new brush - a Vie-Long Boar bristle. This is the first boar bristle shaving brush I've purchased since my days in graduate school. That was a long time ago. I'm very impressed. It makes great lather with my shaving soaps and creams. I prepped it by soaking it for 30-60 mins. in a solution of warm water, baby shampoo and Borax to eliminate any smell from the boar's hair. It worked like a charm.

The photo was taken with my brand new Nikon D3100 and new NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G wide angle lens, both of which were Christmas gifts.

Wow, what a shave! This razor has never been my favorite but I do believe this is the best shave I've ever had with it. It always just seemed to be one of those razors that no matter how much I honed and stropped it never got much better than just OK. This week I've shaved with it twice and both were remarkable shaves. I was just about BBS after the first pass, definitely there after the second pass and the third pass was just for fun.

Post Week of January 23 SOTD - Saturday

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
Brush: 24mm Morris & Forndran, 2-band, Blonde Badger
Razor: 6/8" Respecto #77, Full Hollow, Round Point
Strop: 50/60 (Neil Miller linen/Premium IV leather)
Überlather: Floris №89 Shave Creme + Floris №89 Shave Soap + Glycerin
Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose Petal, no alcohol)
    Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer
After Shave Splash: Floïd Italian Blue
Results: It was back to basics today...I found the urge to use my first ever straight and she did not disappoint. She has a wicked, yet buttery smooth edge. Whiskers stood no chance...With the Floris überlather, she delivered a very close and BBS shave. I am a happy man.
