Headin off to New Zealand for 30 days of flyfishing on Saturday. Travel time 37,5 hours, Oslo-Frankfurt-Dubai-Bangkok-Sydney-Christchurch. Set up will be : Hart Steel Razor, Semogue 830 brush and Palmolive stick in a Daines & Hathaway military roll pack. Den? maybe a motel bathroom now and then but mostly cold water and the rental car mirror. Tony Miller red latigo fishing journal cover will double as strop. Travel fever? Noooooo

Worked early this morning, but got up 30 minutes earlier to have the time for my beloved Straight shave. Put on some Isaac Stern playing the violin, prepared my face with hot water and a very good hair conditioner. Gave the 40 + year old Robeson Shure Edge 6/8 some attention on the SRD strop, made a Schwarzweisskeramic XL Scuttle full of thick TOBS Rose lather with a Simpson Tulip 3 brush and shaved 4 passes to get a superb start to the day. Put on some Fitjarsoap Miklagard Aftershave, wow, this has a wonderful smell.

The Tulip 3 has the silkiest and softest hairs I have ever experienced, and is a dream with creams. Must have been a truly special grade of hairs Simpson had when making this brush.

When I drunk my cup of India Monsoon Malabar coffee and touched my face I thought this Thursday got the best of starts

To all other posters, great pictures and shaves, thank you all!

Post week of January 23 SOTD - Thursday

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
Brush: 22mm New Forest Silvertip Badger
Razor: 11/16" Henckels #50, Hollow, Spike Point
Strop: 55/65 (Torolf linen/Premium IV leather)
Überlather: eShave Almond Shave Creme + Mitchell's Wool Fat Shave Soap + Glycerin
Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose Petal, no alcohol)
    Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free moisturizer
After Shave Splash: Floïd Italian Amber
After Shave Creme: eShave Almond AS creme
    Cologne: Alt Innsbruck EdC
Results: eShave has a wonderful range of products. Their Almond shaving creme was very slick and thick, especially when combined with MWF . Great scent too. The Almond after shave creme provided for a very soothing and moisturizing post-shave feeling. As far as the shave was concerned, the Henckels was a delight to use...Her edge was sharp, yet smooth as butter. What a feeling. Every shave should be just as fabulous!!!
