In fact, I think we should have a LeGrelot day, W&B day, Revisor day, etc...or more broadly, French blades day, English blades day, German blades day, etc...Don't know about the logistics of it and wouldn't want people who don't have a certain kind of blade to feel left out

Anyways, never mind me...I am just pontificating on this beautiful Friday morning.

    Default gssixgun restore

    Soap: C&E Sienna
    Cream: T&H Unscented Ultimate Comfort
    Brush: shavemac Best Badger
Razor: Joseph Elliot's Best Silver Steel

This razor is an antique store find (see http://straightrazorpalace.com/show-...ore-finds.html) that Glen restored and honed for me. When I first found her, I figured the yellow translucent scales would have to be replaced, but after Glen put his magic touch on them they are totally transformed.

Today was my first shave with her, and my first shave with a razor honed by Glen. Wow, does he put a sweet edge on a razor!

    Ern 11/16 straight
    No name silver tip
    Wool fat soap
    Alum block
    Ogallala bay rum aftershave

Picked this razor up in the classifieds from Yohannrjm and this was my first shave with " Mr Ern". He arrived yesterday, the package in dubious condition - no fault of the sender. I waded near knee deep snow to get to the mailbox and found the package soggy and partially frozen to the box, not the ideal condition one would like to see their straight! Once opened it became evident that the bubble wrap had saved the day. Anyway the shave was wonderful, one of the best I've had in a long time. 3 passes, nbd.

No, the blade was ready and the scales were the first one I self created.
