    Default Thank you everyone!

    Prep:Hot Towel
    Scuttle: Dirty Bird Custom Double
    Brush:H.L. Thater 23mm
    Strop:SRD PIV English Bridle
Cream:Custom Frankincense, Myrrh, & Vetiver Bomb
    Razor: Wostenholm Pipe
After shave: Ogallala Bayrum & Sandalwood
    EDT: Cartier Roadster

Result: So the last shave with this razor was a honing experiment to test my edge off of the 8k Norton. It gave a nice shave and it was on to the next step of the experiment, honing on the Thuringian. Since then, I had to travel with work and hadn't got back around to this experiment.

I had a surprise summoning by our head of HR on Thursday to go to the CEO's office to meet with the CEO and the company's Owner (can you say nervous!). I was presented with an “Innovation Award” for an idea I had submitted and was told that I would have some extra $$$ in my next paycheck. I spent 10 minutes or so discussing ideas and then shook their hands and left.

I am now the proud owner of a Escher hone (got a great deal on it and I'm a firm believer in rewarding yourself for a job well done). What is left of the label is readable, though the color label is gone (appears to be Y/G color compared to my Thuri). It measures 2.5”x 5 1/8”. I lapped it and decided to give it a spin. I did 20 laps on slurry and then diluted to water over the next 30 laps. I did 2 passes today and it was definitely smoother than off of the 8k. I think I'll play around a little more with my Escher!

I'm going to try my best to comment more as I miss doing it. Thanks to each of you for your daily pics, posts, & comments!

    Cheers!

    Glenn

Lather MWF & KD Creations Lavender Cream
Brush 24m Thater finest. I love this brush
    Splash Aqua Velva Ice
    ASB KD Creations Menthol
    Razor GR Crown Stamps Rogers
Misc I used my favorite razor tonight. It is a GR Crown stamped rogers. It was reground hollow professionally at some point. It is a bit difficult to strop at times due to the wide tang, but the shaves are great. BTW, it is freaking warm and humid here right now.

Congratulations on the Escher. I'm quite sure you deserve it, I also believe that bonus cash like that needs to be used for something fun.

    Default ERN & Wine

    Razor: Ern Vanadium 1463
    Shave Soap: Mama Mears Patchouli
AS: Witch Hazel then BodySource Riverwoods Balm

Had a great shave with the ERN, which I recently gave a little polish, re-pin and hone. The patchouli mama bears was awesome, not too overpowering with lots of lather. Had to do 3 passes just to not feel guilty about having lots of suds left over. The shave was as smooth as all of those silky suds!

Had some well aged homemade Elderberry wine with tonight's shave. Mmmmm. Laid back, mellow, ready for a good day in the woods tomorrow!

Hot Shower, Baby Oil Gel Preshave, Frederick Reynolds (Skinny), Semogue 1305, Speick Shavestick, Alum Block, Nivea ASB, British Sterling AS

Pretty effortless BBS. To be honest, yesterday's shave was so darned good that I probably started out at about DFS and simply cleaned up a couple spots. Amazing shave this morning though, the more I use this Alum Block, Nivea ASB combination the more I like it.

    Monday's shave.
Freshly honed blade. Inspired by Robert, I'm experimenting with my honing these days.
This one received a finish on my newest finisher. Too soon to tell, but this new hone seems to be able to match my finest finishers for the top spot. And that from a synthetic!!
