Sunday:
Dovo brush
Taylors St. James cream
Moss Scuttle
Illinois strop
7/8 Wade & Butcher "Barber's Rattler"
Taylors Sandalwood A/S
I'm not a big fan of creams, but St. James is far and away my favorite (T&H Grafton is probably second). Nearly as cushiony as their Avocado but with an absolutely heavenly aroma.

Thanked: 346Rooney small style 1 brush
Proraso cream
8/8 Friodur
Pinaud Clubman A/S
The wife bought me the proraso soap and cream at target a few days ago, so I figured I'd give them a try. The cooling effect is very nice in this Houston heat, but the cream wasn't very slippery compared to the Harris soap I normally use, which led to a few minor nicks and scrapes. I'll try the soap in a few days after my face recovers and see if that works out any better, maybe try the cream again with more water (though this morning's lather looked fine).

Thanked: 346Tuesday:
Omega boar brush
Proraso soap
8/8 Friodur
T&H 1805
Another lousy shave. This one was way too fast for safety, despite repeated attempts to get myself to slow down. Stropping, lathering, and two passes in 7 minutes total, and nicks to match. I look like I shaved in the car. Sigh.
Looking at the ingredients, the proraso soap lists potassium hydroxide and sodium hydroxide, which explains why its just a firmer version of the cream and not a normal hard soap. Potassium hydroxide is used for making liquid soaps, while sodium hydroxide is used for making hard soaps. Both the proraso cream and soap list potassium hydroxide as a larger component than sodium hydroxide.
I'm not a fan of the smell, but the proraso soap is small and seems to seal reasonably well so I think I'll make it my travel soap. The proraso boar brush seems to be a better soap brush than my dovo travel brush, so it's also going into the ditty bag.

Had a phone interview pre-shave today, this yahoo in tennessee can't read a timezone map so he called me at 5:45 am. *THAT* was interesting... decided after we hung up that he and his job can go fly a kite. Celebrated with a nice leisurely shower and shave prior to sauntering in to work this morning.
Hot shower
T&H 1805
Edwin Jagger Best Badger
Moss Scuttle
5/8 Wade and Butcher spike point
30 trips on the Tony Miller #1 extravaganza
2 long leisurely passes with a bit of whistling and a sip or two of coffee in between strokes
TAZGMSC aftershave

Finished up with some chihuahua kisses prior to walking out the door. Today is going to be good and relaxing even if I have to wrestle it to the floor and knock a few teeth out of it's head.
