Saturday
A slow and relaxed Saturday with nothing planned. A comfortable shave is a fine start to such a day!
Pre-Shave: Warm shower Brush: Rooney's Finest 25mm Razor: Devin Custom, Feather Damascus, Mammoth bone scales, French point Honing Regimen: This one was a bit tricky to get to my preferred state. After a couple of hours of trying different things, I settled for a very light stroke throughout the entire progression on my Choseras. Finished it off on a Shoubudani with slurry, then dilution to clear water. Strop: C-Mon Vel-Edge, Vintage Cordovan Soap/Cream: Penhaligon's Opus 1870 Astringent: Thayer's Medicated SuperHazel After shave Balm: Penhaligon's Opus 1870 EdT: Penhaligon's Opus 1870 Results: A fine relaxing shave. This blade was rather low on feedback, but I soon got the feel for it and then it shaved smoothly.

Oh yeah!! Great shots! And that razor really looks awesome
Yes Sten, That's what it is all about
By the way, what do you say to a razor/honing night this coming week? I'd love to get together soon for some shave-geekery
Always brilliant photos Mikael. Inspiring stuff, Thank you!
Looks like a fantastic vacation buddy! Thanks for all the great photos!
A good shave is what this is all about.!
Shaving with a vintage razor that is honed properly is awesome, regardless of brand or blingBjoernar

I still suspect you hide Max somewhere at home, he keeps on doing the most wonderful scales for you. But you´re worth it! So, I should prob not say anything to Blugill about the NOS 7 day set of Heljestrand blades I baged recently
Thank you Björnar! Very cool blade you´ve got today, the pattern is unreal. Very nice piece, indeed!

PREP: Hot shower
RAZOR: Brian Brown Custom 7/8th's
BRUSH: Thater
UBERLATHER: Qed "Sandalwood" and Trumpers " Sandalwood"
ASTRINGENT: Thayers Unscented
ASB: Skinfood Sandalwood
EDT: Arden " Sandalwood"
RESULTS: A TRULY AMAZING SHAVE
I got this blade from Brian yesterday and I just had to use it. This blade is awesome. It fits great in my hand and it was so much fun using. The spike point is not to be taken lightly, as it almost got me a couple times. This blade wiped away my three days growth with so much ease it dint feel like I was shaving. Also I used a true sandalwood uberlather with QED and Trumpers u cant ask for a better sandalwood combo. My face is super smooth,BBS,and ready for a day of much deserved relaxation
GREAT PHOTOS AND SHAVES THIS WHOLE WEEK GUYS!!!!!
CANT WAIT FOR NEXT WEEKS!!

Thanked: 485Firstly, this is one EXCELLENT photo. If it is analogue, even better. I was going to buy one of these travelling shavers a little while ago, but didn't. Got a straight now. Probably need a DE too? I remember as a recruit, in the Australian army in the mid 80s being issued a DE razor as part of my kit. I think I was the only recruit in my platoon to actually use it. First time I touched it to my face it cut me. Thinking back now (25 years) I feel my desire to use this 'quaint' piece of equipment pre-empted my love of old, vintage stuff...even then...
