BTW:
Robert posted in this days his 3K.
Thanks for sharing all your useful posts and pictures (with some of my razors)
Took the C-mon to the strop this morning in a hope to improve the comfort of the shave; 20 CrO pasted pressed wool then 30 on webbing and 40 on latigo...
Prep: hot shower and a long lather
Soap: CS Lime
Brush: Rooney silvertip
Razor: Dovo C-Mon Blackie
Post: witch hazel
Result was a shave that still feels harsh I might need to put the razor to a hone...

Thank you for the kind words Frank. Hang in there buddy...I am sure that Max is giving your Maxtom some extra special attention.
Beautifully done Tom
Thanks Matt. You too...Nice shave today with that custom of yours
Thank you for the info and the kind words Jamie. Collecting and using these fine pieces of steel is always a fun (and functional) hobby. It's always very satisfying to find an uncommon gem in a sea of typical razors. I can't wait to see your razors when you get them back from Neil. Crown & Swords are always nice shavers as are Kropps.
Hehehehehe. Max would kill me, LOOOOL. Come to think of it, I would kill me too :)
Thank you kindly Birnando. Yours will probably soon go into the "blueprint stage" mode and knowing you, it'll be a 12/8" Monster, weighting a lofty 1kg, LOOOL. You'll love it for sure
Thank you Béla
Holy Cow...You're right Tom. 3K already? Man...I really have a lot of "nothings" to say.
Thank you and it was a pleasure shaving with "your" razors, LOOOOOL.
Dunc,
That's a seriously nice Blackie. Take her to the stones my friend...sounds like she needs a good refresh at the very least. You will not be disappointed. These C-Mon blades really take on a keen and smooth edge.
Wowww Sten,
Nice C-Mon...Did you and Dunc coordinate the C-Mon debut today, LOL? Try to enjoy the call of duty the next few days. We'll miss your posts brother but eagerly look forward to seeing you back
Teiste,
I had missed your posts my friend. Seriously nice shave today.
PS: Love your M&F brush. So much so that I ordered two more (27mm and 30mm, both 2-banders)
That's a beautiful shot José (and nice shave)
:beer1:I saw the post by Dunc and laughed. Must of been a C-Mon day!
I just got settled in and sighed when I unpacked the electric razor...... Oh well I'll have to pull out something special when I get home Mon..
thanks Robert.
Dunc shall we coordinate for Mon as well??:w
ROBERT, CONGRATULATIONS ON THE 3000:y
Hello from beautiful Firenze! I have been looking this morning at some of the wonderful shaves, I will catch up fully when I return next Wednesday, but wanted you all to know the Beagle is loving what you're showing!
As for me, I had only one shave, and my camera died while in Rome. :-(
But here is the shave I had on Thursday (8 days growth)!
Wedding shave (not me, to late :D)
Prep: Hot shower + Proraso on head
Brush: SOC
Razors: Red Imp + british Aristocrat
Soap: MdC
AS: Mennen SB
Strops: Neil Miller
Result: Very, very clean :D
Nice blade, the Imp, but it felt a little wrong to use an Aristocrat for a head shave, but it sure was sweet :D

Hi the watermark,
I like nice things, I don't need many of them (I have very few), but I like a few nice things. And I like this razor. I'm WAY into straight razors at the moment, an obsession to add to vintage cufflinks, vintage fountain pens, vintage tea and coffee cups, etc. I'd like to know more about this razor. Where did you get it? Is it old? Is it an old blade with new scales? How much (if you don't mind me asking) did it set you back? Will you sell it to me? Can you tell me where to get one? etc......
Thanks for the soapdish I have two of these. Actually, this originally bonbon dishes :). I saw them at a flea market and fell in love with these bowls.
As for morning or evening shaving, they are equally smooth.
But I often have more time on weekdays in the evening so that's why I shave more often in the evening.
And I find it pleasant and enjoy shaving and just pleased to take my time.
My wife calls it quality time for me, life is busy enough.
That's a great razor that you have there.Quote:

Good morning Gentlemen!
Shave prep: Face wash
Brush: Long-handled FS Finest
Soap: Decided to überlather today, Palmolive and VdH with a few drops of glycerin
Razor: Platipus 88, 5/8 spike hollow ground
Strop: nun2sharp's hanging leather strop
After Shave Splash: English leather
Notes: Luxurious shave with that überlather. Razor was a little harsh and needed a thorough stropping, but after that it was fine. It'll recieve another good stropping before next use and I expect it will be perfect.

Ouuuuch!!! The dreaded eShave (not the brand). Hang in there...Monday is not too far off.
Thanks GentlemenQuote:
Good move Dunc...practice blades are the way to go when learning how to hone. C-Mon for Monday is great enough for me...They're fabulous blades.
Great shave Tom.
Hey Bill...we were wondering if you were having a great time. Now, we know that you are. Firenze is very special indeed. Enjoy your time there.
Sorry for the camera. I guess instead of your next custom, you should be investing in a nice new camera, LOL.
Mikael,
What do you mean too late? Don't you know the saying: 'A man is not complete until he is married, and after that he is finished', LOOOOOOL. Here's to us "finished" guys :beer1:.
PS: Great shave though...have fun at the wedding
B.,
That Novodur is one beautiful piece of steel my friend. Congrats on getting the perfect edge. I also found that the Escher is the perfect finisher for the Filarmonicas. JNat does a great job too, but the Escher edge is something else. Well done brother, well done
K.,
What a beautiful blade. btw; you changed your avatar!! is that the 'real' you?
+1. I love it when wives "get it". Kudos to yours
Super nice Filarmonica Konstantinos. Great setup
Lovely razor buddy and thank you for the kind words

Vulfix Persian Musk

St James Founders reserve,
Manderin & Patchouli gel Balm
St James Cedarwood & Clarysage,
Eau de cologne.
Such a good shave first time with some of these products, love the Eau de cologne and the balm, I also have the shaving cream in the Cedarwood and clarysage, two pass shave, very close, but it's always a great shave when you have about three days growth, very impressed with the St James Founders reserve, gave the New Forest Tubby 1 it's first run out super little brush.
Jamie.

This shave is partly a belated nod to Mark (Blugill), RIP.
My compliments to all the contributors this week, and my apologies. If I went through this thread "liking" everything, this post would probably belong in next week's thread.
Earlier this week, a parcel arrived from Neil Miller:
http://i741.photobucket.com/albums/x...tsinthebox.jpg
Interesting box, eh?
http://i741.photobucket.com/albums/x...spairinbox.jpg
A matched pair of Rodgers in ivory, which I picked up for a song a while back. There was quite a lot of active rust, and one of the scales needed replacing. As things turned out, Neil wound up doing quite a lot of additional work: another new scale, some grinding and lots of buffing, none of which is within my scope. Needless to say I'm bowled over with the results, and my hat is well and truly doffed to him.
SRP:

New Forest 2211 silvertip; Martin de Candre; witch hazel; Acqua di Parma Colonia Assoluta.
Normally I get on better with full hollows, like a lot of people I suspect, but both of these shave as well and as easily as anything else I've used.
I honed this last night. WOW! I wish all razors honed up this fast. I must say i didnt have much to shave after My Olmsted Glenn did for me. Yet the minute this razor touched my face she attacked the stubble with a vengence. 2 passes and her reign of terror was over. She took no prisoner. She is a deadly beauty! Hmmm....... Like most women!:borg:
