All your TIs are beautiful Tom
Hehehehehe...but that strike stinks. How long before they settle?
Congratulations Sten. Let me guess what stone sets: Choseras?
LOOOOOOL. Do you hear that Max?? You're hazardous to my health, LOL
Wooaaaah Mikeal,
She's a beauty my friend. She looks shoulderless-ish too!!
Birnando,
Great to hear you're healed and back to the routine of things...and what a way to make a comeback my friend. That is one drop dead gorgeous Revisor. Congratulations. I've been on the lookout for one of these forever, but for one reason or another, never really went for it. After seeing yours, I am feeling the urge surface again.
Bill,
Nice of you to do the honing for Rene. He will be a happy camper I am sure. Sorry about the soap though.
Paul,
Im relatively sure she's the 250th anniversary one. Great score and add to the collection buddy
My point exactly, LOOOOL
I do not blame you. She's a keeper for sure.
Who indeed, LOOL. Excellent choice today Glenn. That Filarmonica of yours was one of the best (and smartest and luckiest) purchases you ever made. Can't believe you picked that up for a song. Very impressive and fabulous rescale job
Beautiful photo and razor GI
I knew it, LOOOOOOL. But that razor is $10 above my budget, LOL
Nice and effective shave today Theseus. Welcome to the clean shaven world. Looks like you are more than ready for whatever the world has to throw your way...
You nostalgic old fart you, LOL...Now, you got me thinking too. I would also love to visit the 60s, 70s with you (although I was too young). Sounds like an awesome shave Jamie...ready to visit the 60s brother?
Amoré a Proraso. Bellissimo Monroe, bellissimo mio amico
Nice experiment Nic. Promising, meaning "there lots of room for improvement" or that "it's almost there"?

Thanks mate!
It's so funny you should say that, because I've been thinking about getting one for at least a year now, but for some reason, never did.
I guess what pushed me over the top was hearing a couple guys talking about them in the irc chat.
I must say, it is a beautiful razor, and I heartily recommend anyone to try one out
Re your shave today.
You seem to have bought not only a bunch of wonderful shavers, but a lot of exiting new software as well.
I'm taking notes every day, and will stock up a bit, largely based on your fine descriptions and pictures.
Thanks againLast edited by Birnando; 06-22-2011 at 03:31 PM.

Thanks buddy...That's exactly the position I am (or was) in. I will hang out in this pattern for a little longer before pulling the trigger though. With some purchases, the gut feeling has to be on the same page as your "wants" and mine ain't entirely there yet. But soon
Thanks for the kind words B...I think I should start signing up to get some % of referrals from such sales, LOOOOL.
Nic,
It's all experimentation, like you are doing. That's where the fun is. Keep having fun.
You're too kind Julian. My true classification would be a "wanna be" top player. One day, I'll get close to the real thing.
What a beautiful setting to shave in David. Have fun. it sure sounds like it is
...and he does it again!!! How's the Somerset?
Claude,
Now you have a razor named after you.
Beautiful work on that wedge Sten. I like the scales too. But a true wedge? That's real nice. A keeper for sure. Well done
...Oh boy! I see the evolution of a HAD addict, LOL. Congrats on the JNat
Lovely shot José
Beautiful razor Michael
PS: Glad someone else uses (and likes) the IK creme
Advisory,
From the sounds of it, if stropping (50-60 laps) didn't fix the problem, then your edge needs a refresher at the very least (just my 2 cents). Overcompensation by angle or pressure (they go hand in hand) is a dangerous game, imo. Send her out to be refreshed or rehoned or do it yourself if you're comfortable.
Something about this shave really appeals to me Teiste
Monroe,
I have indeed and I fully concur with your assessment. It is a wonderful creme. I don't use her often because it has a lot of unneeded ingredients that I don't like (SLS, etc...). Performance wise though, she is up there.
Hapless idiots??? Where??? I've been looking looking for those, LOOOOL
Love that Maxjestrand of your Frank. Butterscotch micarta scales are very fitting for these blades.
What??? you are going to leave us stranded like that??? You BIG tease, LOOOL. Beautiful Timor buddy
That's one gorgeous shoulderless Jeff. Love the scale art design
Shhhhhhh...don't tell her. If they make it, who am I to reject the opportunity of trying it, LOOOL?
Well don't tell Max,
But I stole a piece of his hair last time I saw him and cloned and reengineered a GMM (Genetically Modified Max), LOOOOOOOL. This guy just keeps working non-stop. No eating, drinking or sleeping required. Pretty low maintenance really, LOOOOOOOOOOOL.
Rene,
A heartfelt happy 78th Birthday to your dad my friend. You and him must have been very close. He will always live in your memories and as such has achieved the immortal status most of crave for after our passing. Nice shave to commemorate and dedicate this moment of your life to your dadLast edited by BladeRunner001; 06-23-2011 at 03:14 AM.

PREP: Hot Shower BRUSH: SIMPSON CHUBBY 2 2-Band SOAP/CREAM: Martin de Candre RAZOR: Buddel 7/8 French Point in Suminagashi & Gold Bug STROP: Kanayama TONER: Thayer's Lavender AS: Eau de Cologne LAVANDA Ach. Brito EdT: Lorenzo Villoresi Wild Lavender RESULT: Today I tested the third of Rene's razors honed on my new Choseras. I think I managed to go 3/3 on them. They will be headed home! The real story today, though, was lavender! I started with a little heaven from Provence, with the Martin de Candre. This stuff has a scent that is absolutely intoxicating to me, and whips up some of the most luxurious and efficacious lather I've ever dreamed of. Today was no exception as the Chubby 2 worked its magic. The Buddel then went to work, which is to say it glided effortlessly across my face leaving me weak kneed with how efficiently the stubble disappeared. I continued the lavender assault with some Ach. Britt Lavanda After Shave Splash and then topped it all off with the Villoresi Wild Lavender. This last step brought in some elements of lemon, geranium and spices to play off the wonderful floral lavender base. Now if only I had a fresh baked almond croissant, I might forget I'm in D.C. and truly think I was back in the south of France!
He saw a lawyer killing a viper on a dunghill hard by his own stable; And the Devil smiled, for it put him in mind of Cain and his brother Abel.

And what a day eTom. That TI has a beautifully worked spine. A real razor maker's work-of-art.
I love the sales on your ERN "ATOR" Bella. I trust that she shaves as good as she looks.
I'm right with you there Bill. You're not only making me drool over your shaving kit, but hungry as well. An almond croissant and a cafe a' lait. I'm in Heaven!"Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter." Mark Twain

Prep: Hot shower
Brush: Shavemac D01 two band
Razor: Roberts
Superlather: Dr Harris Almond + Arko cream
AS: Ogallala Limes and Peppercorns
Strops: Neil Miller
Result: Very, very close
I´ve been using to many hollow grinds lately and lost touch of how light handed you need to be with a wedgy Sheffield blade, like this. Not cuts or reall nicks, but a couple och mini nicks where the blade simply came to close. Uberclean face and shave though
