I do like my Gold Dollar, but then again I'm rather froward, it was stropped on my home made ash paddle strop, and took one heck of an edge! Result a truly smooth, relaxed shave with a hint of Key lime pie.

    Prep:Hot Shower
    Scuttle:Dirty Bird custom double
    Brush:H.L. Thater 23mm
    Strop:SRD PIV English Bridle
    Cream:CarrieM's “First Frost”
    Razor: Kama
    After shave: C.O. Bigelow “Mentha”
    EDT: NOIR

Result: The Kama never disappoints. This mornings shave was super comfortable and very smooth. CarrieM's “First Frost” cream and the C.O. Bigelow ASB are just what was needed as the temperature soars into triple digits again today.

    Have an excellent day gentlemen!

Indeed, one side went more than numb. First at about 3am I woke up in bed with my entire left side on fire. Couldn't hardly walk, was seeing stars and was light headed. I tried to walk it off (this was the second time this had happened, the first time, about 4 months ago, was probably the damage they saw in the radiation/stress test), I was sweating profusely, enough to totaly soak a towel I grabbed. I went back to bed and woke the wife and told her something was wrong. About this time it started easing up. So she was toweling me off and I fell back asleep. Scared all heck out of her. I woke up about 30 minutes later with the same thing, my whole left side on fire only this time my armpit and left chest were included in the 'fire'. It only lasted about a minute. At this point wife wanted to call 911, but I talked her out of. Then it happened again, then again. The last time my chest hurt so bad, and my left side was totally useless, so I caved and had her drive me to the hospital. of course by the time I got there, all symptoms were quiet. They didn't mess around, I was in a chair headed for the cardiology floor with 5 minutes of hitting the emergency room door. Then the real fun began. LOL It was the scariest experience I have had, ever!!

Thank you all for the care and concern. What a great bunch of guys.

My best to all of you!!

No pic today, (maybe I post one later) had only 30 minutes from I got home from work to shower and shave before going to my mother in law's 70th birthday.

    Prep: Cold shower
    Razor: Friodur 72 1/2. 6/8
Strop: 30/60 Neil Miller linen/english bridle
    Brush: Simpson Chubby 1
    Soap: Tabac
    Aftershave: Tabac
Result: A very nice, and almost BBS shave, but the ten minutes I had avaliable for shaving made me rush a little and I didn't pay enough attention to the angle which caused a slight burn, still very satisfied though, I didn't shave that fast even when I used cartridges and goo

    Good afternoon Gents!

    Shave prep: Face wash
    Brush: Frank Shaving Finest Badger
Soap: Artifact Soapworks Limited Old Spice w a few drops of glycerine
    Razor: C. W. Dahlgren, 7/8 wedge barber's notch
    Strop: nun2sharp's hanging leather strop
After Shave Splash: Lavender spice, house blend
Notes: I got this soap as a gift a while back but have not been able to make it work well for me. For some reason I pulled it out again today and had another go at it. It did not perform with my boar brush, but it did better with a badger, and a few drops of glycerine made a thick nice lather that lasted through my shave. Nice relaxing 1-pass BBS.

    Mike,
I hope I don't come across as preachy, but I say this because I care. I totally agree with Paul (aka, Str8shooter) in his post...Don't take this lightly. Get this checked out as soon as possible (PLEASE). Especially after reading what you (and your wife) went through. It's not a sign. This forum has lost 2 of its brothers this year alone (almost back to back). It hit us pretty hard...I, for one, am not ready to risk losing another (I do enjoy your company and SOTD too much)...especially if it's something that's preventable. Do it for your family brother.

    Birnando,
Nice CL frameback buddy. That 30 minutes is probably the best 1/2 hour of every day

Happy Birthday to your mother-in-law Rune. Great choice of soft and hardware. Sorry about the rush and resulting irritation though.
