    Default Tuesday's Shave

    Good Afternoon Gentlemen,

Just back from a short break.

    Prep: Shower
    Strop: SRD Premium 1 Leather strop, 50 , 100
    Brush: Kent Boar
Cream: Kaloderma, (Greek writing on the tube, but made in Germany, nice smell, good lather)
Rasor: Dovo Pearlex 6/8" (First shave with this razor)
    AS: Gillette, Cool Wave

I had 2 days growth, as I had travelled overnight on Sunday and on arrival went straight to work from the airport. I had been shaving with a DE whilst away and was looking forward to a straight shave. I wasn't disappointed, good shave.

I have also added a picture of some aftershave balm, I saw in a supermarket in Cyprus.
Have a really great day gentlemen.

DFS today. Just finished pinning this last night after work and ran it through the hones. Norton 1/4/8 then the Naniwa 12K followed by CrOx Balsa and 0.25Micron diamond balsa. With the Uber today it just glided through the whisker forest this morning. Real nice razor and a great restore from the crap on it when I got it. It now sits in rotation ready for the next time it's called upon!!!
    Have a great Tues all!

    Default Tuesday morning

I had the day to myself, so I took my time in the shave cave today

    Pre-Shave: Shower
    Brush: Plisson HMW #16
    Razor: Filarmonica #13 Doble Temple
    Strop: Kanayama #90000, tri strop
    Soap/Cream: Al's shaving cream, Saigon
    Astringent: Alum
After shave Balm: Al's ASB, Saigon
    EdT: Penhaligon's Sartorial
Results: This was the very first Filarmonica I bought. It still delivers the goods. A fantastic and lasting edge on this little Spaniard Al's shaving cream is good stuff, the Sartorial is fast becoming a favorite scent around here All in all, a very nice and relaxing shave!

    Good afternoon Gents!

    Shave prep: Summer rain
    Brush: Haryali badger
    Soap: Crabtree & Evelyn Nomad
Razor: Wade & Butcher, 5/8 spike
    Strop: nun2sharp's hanging leather strop
    After Shave Splash: Oriental Spice
Notes: Got surprised by a good shower of rain on my way home from work, it left my face nice and warm and wet, so I decided to let that be my beard prep. Slow, comfortable 3-pass BBS, great shave. This razor is smooth, as long as you don't let the spike bit you

The French soap did not impress today, should have used just a bit less water in the mix.
    Konstantinos,
I especially loved your SOTD today. Very nice and descriptive. Congrats on adding that beautiful Helje to the mix and yes, they are amazing shavers. Take her back to the stones and you will be rewarded. The IK is a wonderful soap, but I agree, not very forgiving when the water:soap ratio if a bit off. Incredibly moisturizing and thick when right.

PS: I, personally, would really enjoy reading about your "spicy" moments in Budapest...Sounds very intriguing and mysterious (maybe start a separate thread?)

Beautiful Cape and great shave. Congrats on solving the water issue. Hopefully, it won't cause you to forget how you used to do it when you return home

    Grant,
This POC is a stunner...Great choice. Sorry about the edge though, but I am sure she's no match for your skills and stones

    Sten,
What a nice surprise. I love being rained on (especially during winter hikes for me). Nice razor and shave too.

Post Week of August 7 SOTD - Tuesday

    Surprise, Surprise

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
Brush: 30mm Morris & Forndran Blonde Badger
Maxterpiece: 13/16" Wade & Butcher, Shoulderless, Extra Hollow Ground, Spike Point (w/ Silver Twill scales)
Strop: 0/0/0 (Neil Miller Linen / Imperial Horsehide leather / Imperial Cordovan leather)
Überlather: James Bronnley "Gentleman's" Shave Creme + Mitchell's Wool Fat Shave Soap + Glycerin
Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose Petal, no alcohol)
    Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer
After Shave Splash: James Bronnley "Gentleman's" AS
After Shave Balm: James Bronnley "Gentleman's" ASB
    Cologne: James Bronnley "Gentleman's" EdT
Results: What a shave this AM. I won this beautiful W&B on eBay and asked Max to rescale her in the gorgeous "Silver Twill" clothes that you see here (Thanks maestro ). She's in immaculate condition (well, as far as these vintage ones go anyway ). Max also put on a very mean edge on her...I coupled this beauty with my Simpson's brush and a concoction of James Bronnley SC and MWF SS for some ultra-luxurious lather and prep. The W&B wiped the 24 hr growth, which lately seems to be growing faster than normal, effortlessly and with absolute grace and elegance.

    Have a SPECTACULAR Tuesday gentlemen.
