    Rooney small style 1 brush
    Harris Arlington soap
    Bismark strop
    6/8 Wacker stippleback (first pass)
Gillette fatboy with SS American Personna blade (second&third pass)
    Pinaud Clubman

I effed up when putting the razor down to relather after the first pass and dulled the edge. Didn't have time or inclination to grab another, so I finished up with the DE. Not a bad shave when it was all over, but certainly unsatisfying. Picked up a Radio Shack microscope at lunch so I can assess the damage. Hopefully I just rolled the edge badly.

    Hot towel (first try...worked nicely)
    TAGMSC shave soap
    Worldmaster 6/8 Sheffield steel
    TAGMSC aftershave.

I hadn't used that aftershave in a while and had forgotten how nice it was. Also I'd been getting used to a 7/8 TI lately and hadn't used a 6/8 for a while. Very different. I'd forgotten how much size really DOES matter....not for good or bad though, just different.

    -C&E BB brush
    -CH Leatherneck soap
    -The Winner 5/8 round singer
    -CH Bay Rum as

Colleen came up with another great scent for her shaving soaps. This one has a real old school smell and the great performance I got used to with her soaps.
Her Bay Rum as has less of a sting than DBR and leaves the skin with more moisture. I also like the scent better, which makes up for the lack of a strong sting.
The shave itself wasn't as comfortable as I would have liked, but that's expected when the razor is FFTH. On a good note, it is the last in the rotation to get the first shave after the honing, so it's smooth going from now on. Going Tonsorial again tomorrow

    Default 9/15/06

    Shower
6/8 Badaud 1/4 hollow (from Joe Chandler) horn scales
Omega (looks like a Silver Tip, costs like a Pure) badger brush
    Burma Shave soap
    Tony Miller 3" strop
    Trumper alum block
    ice cubes
    Nivea A/S balm

Razor shaved effortlessly! Had to work a bit more on the foam because I forgot to pour hot water in the soap while soaking the brush Also, Omega badger feels a bit floppy compared to my Burma Shave boar. This Omega brush has to be the best value in the world though it's a bit ugly (personal issue w/ gold trim, the only place where it's acceptable is on an etched blade, maybe goldwashed tang) After some work, I had nice lather for the whole neighbourhood...

Very nice shave, except 2 nicks, stopped by cold water right away. Some redness from getting a bit aggressive, impatient and failing to re-lather appropriately - minimal until the alum hit the face. This is my second time using an alum block and it was MUCH better than the first. Most of the face was great, only a couple of spots were more sensitive and got kinda red. It is also weird that when I applied the alum, it was OK, then several minutes later it started to feel more prickly. I wash it off anyway so it doesn't matter. Ice cubes a/r alum are great! And I love Nivea AS balm for the final touch.
