Jamie,
Only my second shave with this razor it produced a excellent shave super smooth, technique improving all the time, it's about confidence when using very sharp blades I think, my left hand is doing OK it did it's 50% of the shave, very pleased if i'm honest.

Late Friday post
God and country have been keeping me fairly busy but here is a late Fri post!
My Buddy that is interested in wet shaving has a daughter that gave me a little buddy to shave with!
TI in Rams Horn, MDC/EJ Sea Buckhorn.
I ran this back over the Naniwa 12K then the Shapton 16K followed by 30/60 HPF and Leather. Great shave and OMG sharp! I'm finding I really like the edge off the shapton. Very crisp and precise. Not harsh at all.

I really had no idea which razor to use today. Scanning through my boxes i decided on the Ferlen. I have never seen another razor like this since i bought it. Beautiful razor and Very sharp and about a 1/4 hollow. I think i need to tone the edge down a bit. I did have a little irritation. If you havent tried Eucris i Highly recomend it. Awesome stuff!

I believe the Ferlen to be a Japanese steel razor made in the western style if I recall correctly. They are of very high quality. Beautiful piece and thanks for posting!

10-08-2011, 04:11 PM #317Judging from the top notch quality of your shaves today (and everyday), I would say that you gentlemen are off to a great start for Saturday. A true pleasure to see and wind down another successful week's SOTD.
Awesome shave Frank
Now that sounds like fun EA. It also gives new meaning to "if you build it, they will come" line. Yours will be: If you think it, it shall manifest.
LOOOOOOOOL. I love that Tom
Trust me bro, you're not the only one. This is a great product. Floris is amongst my favorites too (although I don't have the full line up like AS/EdC like you do). Great scent and great lather
PS: Nice TZ and great shave B
D.,
The Sienna is one good smelling soap...a great shave brotha
Wowww Amund,
That good, eh? You must have one of the good C12K, because I have heard that it's always touch and go with these stones. Great shot and shave too.
Angel,
Beautiful shave my friend...just beautiful.
Welcome to SOTD Mariv...great setup. Love the WB
I love that brush Mikael...Rod and I talked about the Masur Birch, but I ended up choosing the Thuya Burl for my brush (hopefully when he gets his knots in soon). The Masue will be definitely be on my radar screen as a next project.
Well done with the Helje too...Hopefully it was a comfortable one.
Nic,
That setup will certainly result in a DFS. Great one. And about your post: That's what I call dedication buddy. Nothing comes between me and my food (Arghhh)...not even SOTD, LOOOL
Love the slant. A simple and effective Saturday shave BM
Congrats Jamie...That's what it's all about; the journey, not the destination. This hobby should be viewed more like "Journey without a goal" (the Tantric wisdom of Buddha)...take the destination out of the equation and your options will widen considerably.
Paul,
I love your friend's friend. Those puppy and beady little eyes are so cute, LOOL
Great looking TI too and well done on her edge. These things have hard steel, but once they take an edge, they're marvelous
Love to see a picture of this beautiful blade. Nice shave
Hey Rene,
With 250+ razors in your arsenal, I would have the same problem, LOOOOOL. That is one beautiful blade brother. Great choice...sorry for the irritation though
Beautiful setup and blade. Harris' lavender is a top notch soap indeed.

To end this week's wonderful SOTD series, here's one of KAL's recent political cartoons.
We've been featuring Greece, the EU, etc...Now, it's time to put Russia in the spotlight, LOOOOOL. Enjoy
