That is one sweet sweet pair of scales. And I can tell you I'm not a big wooden scales fan.

Edit : I didn't even realize it was some Maxterpiece; so well, congrats on that magnificent wood, mister Max!

    Prep:Hot Towel
    Scuttle:Dirty Bird Custom Double
    Brush:TGN 30 mm in R/B M3
    Strop:SRD PIV
Uber:Tabac cream, Tabac soap, 5 drops glycerin
    Razor: Boker King Cutter
    After shave: C.O. Bigelow “Mentha”
    EDT: Polo Blue

Result: 2 passes with the Boker this morning. I hadn't used the Tabac uber-lather in a while. I'm sure glad I did as it provided excellent cushion and glide, resulting in a very smooth and comfortable shave.

Have a great day gentlemen! -Glenn-

    Tuesday

“It was a shave, Jim; but not as we know it...”

I tried to hone the Erik Anton Berg last night. You can probably tell how it went by my use of the word ‘tried’. I don’t think the bevel is even; it’s thicker on one side than the other. I’m really only honing it for practice. Not sure if it was my poor honing or just the thinner blade (9/16 at the widest) but it didn’t feel good. It did remove whiskers without pain, though. I don’t think I really like the thinner razors as much as those around 5/8. Still not sure if I’ll buy new scales and polish it myself or send it away...

    Razor: Erik Anton Berg
    Pre Shave: Proraso
    Cream: Speick
    ASB: ‘Herb Valley’ Witch Hazel
After Shave: Truefitt and Hill Trafalgar

What are they doing in the basement? Play them! I read some of 'The Doors of Perception' by Aldous Huxley the other day. This was his 1954 book on his experiences taking Mescaline and the book that The Doors were named after, of course...

    BRUSH: Rooney IXL 2
    SOAP: QED B and B
    ASTRINGENT: Thayers

Got a nice night shave in today. Got home from work and decided to use the Merkur. Spent a long time prepping the beard and lathering up the B and B ( the smell of this stuff is devine) the Merkur took away all the whiskers. 3 passes to BBS and I am feeling great.
Took this other pic a night or two ago, it is pretty much "as is" from my iphone. the sky was so gorgeous.

Wowww. That sounds amazing T. I wish my razors could deliver that kind of shave in 2 passes. On second tough, I kinda like my 3 passes. That way, I can extend my shave time in the man cave, LOL

Hmmm, I thought the hollow ones gave you the trouble (at least that's what I understood). Anyways, Neil will put on a mean edge for you

    Amund,
When it is well done, then you don't need a studio setup to get the most out of your pictures. Today's setup in very interesting and a great shave for sure. Don't work too hard.

    Rune,
Wowwww, are you serious? 11 mos ago? Jeez, time flies when you're having fun. I love this Revisor

    Alb,
First submission maybe, but c'mon, I know you've been lurking around for some time ;-). Glad you finally decided to take the plunge. And what a plunge with this wonderful setup. Love your TI too. Welcome to the fray brother

    Hey Carl,
Sorry about the "less than perfect" shave this Berg delivered. She's a beauty for sure. I think you should pamper her awhile longer.

PS: Love the background in your photo
