The R41 is an amazing DE razor, rivals my straight shaves.

Post week of October 16 SOTD - Saturday

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
Brush: 25mm Morris & Forndran Blonde Badger (with real bone handle)
Razor: 15/16" E. Klopp "Spezial" worked back spine, Full Hollow Ground, Spike Point
Strop: 10/55/25 laps (Neil Miller Linen / Imperial Shave "Pegasus III" Horse hide leather / Cordovan leather)
Überlather: NancyBoy "Signature" Shave Creme + Cella Crema de Barba Shave Soap + Glycerin
Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose, no alcohol)
    Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer
After Shave Splash: Floïd Italian Blue AS
After Shave Balm: NancyBoy "Replenishing" AS gel
Cologne: Van Cleef & Arpels "Tsar" EdT
Results: Looks like we survived the end of the world. If not, then I am writing this post from Heaven (or Hell). A great shave to end this SOTD week. The Ernst Klopp was an eBay find and delivers one smooth shave. The NancyBoy is one of the top notch cremes in my collection. Combined with the tallow-ish goodness of the Cella, it's a tough proposition to beat. Wonderfully smooth finish. I am as happy as a clam.

    Have a GREAT Saturday gentlemen.

    Very complex pre-shave ritual :-)

In all seriousness, have you tried the R 89? I'd be interested in how much more 'aggressive' the 41 is. I find the 89 very smooth, but would possibly prefer something akin to the 41...I'd be interested in your opinion...
