Post Week of October 23 SOTD - Sunday

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
Brush: 28mm Rodney Neep Extra Stuffed Silvertip Badger w/ Soap stone handle
Maxterpiece: 7/8" P. Hospital Le Grelot #14, 3/4 Hollow Ground, Round Point (w/ Butterscotch Micarta scales + black wedge)
Honing (Refresh) regimen: 5 (light) laps on CrOx leather strop
Strop: 15/50/25 laps (Neil Miller Linen / Imperial Shave "Pegasus III" Horse hide leather / Cordovan leather)
Überlather: Jack Black "Macademia/Soy" Shave Creme + Mama Bear's "Amber Romance" Shave Soap + Glycerin
Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose, no alcohol)
    Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer
After Shave Splash: Floïd Italian Amber AS
After Shave Balm: RazoRock AS wax
Results: What a TERRIFIC way to start this week's shave. The LG was refreshed on CrOx and she delivered on a dime, with exceptional results. The überlather was equally fabulous. I love my Rodney Neep brush and can't wait for my second - this guy certainly knows what he's doing. I've never before seen a knot this dense. .

    Have a GORGEOUS Sunday gentlemen.

    1956 October 23 HUNGARY

    Béla,
What a gorgeous shave to commemorate this National holiday. It's too bad that the revolution was fleeting and Soviet forces moved in to crush the opposition a short time after it began. But freedom eventually prevails.

    EA,
Hope you had a great couple of days. Welcome back home. What a great shave to be treated to. I love the feeling of before & after a shave.

Good point Tom...If things continue on the path they're on, what happened 3 yrs ago may be just a prelude of what's to come.

It weighs in at 72% alcohol/144 proof, and has a little glycerin in it for hydration. I often think sandalwood can be too much, but this is just right. Slow comfortable 2-pass shave left me wonderfully BBS. Feeling good this morning!
    Sten,
It's so good seeing you post again brother. I love your gear, but what I missed most besides you and your posts, is your AS splashes. This one sounds heavenly my friend. What kind of Sandalwood did you use? Can you post that link you had again on the making of such splashes (I can't seem to find it) and it was very educational.

    Birnando,
I love stories like this that beat medical odds. Congrats buddy. "Will power" is the intangible variable doctors can't wrap their heads around. It's amazing to learn about the healing powers of the mind. Great shave to to celebrate this special day

    He loves sampling the aftershaves.

    Grant,
That is one heck of a shave. Great gear. Sounds like Elvis was having more fun than you though, LOOOL.

I decided to try the Fitjar with my new Thater 2 band and it was even better than the first time I used it. I've decided I really like this scent with it's woodsy aroma and this stuff really performs. The 8/8 Henckels really did the job on the whiskers and the results are nothing short of remarkable. One of my best shaves ever.
Nice combo Jack, but this is not the same Thater in SRD's group buy, is it? I don't think those have been received by Max yet

No, I bought this from SRD recently. It is much better than I thought it would be. Soft, lots of backbone and it holds water like crazy. I ordered it and received it in just a couple of days. One of my better purchases.

It was a long time from 1953 to 1989.
The people in the GDR initiated the reunification of Germany.

    Sunday

    Razor: 6/8 Dovo Best Quality
    Brush: Altesse Badger
    Soap: Col. Conk Lime
    A/S: Master Bay Rum

Very smooth Sunday morning shave! The Dovo made quick work of the whiskers and the Master Bay Rum/Drakkar Noir finish provided a very nice start to the week!
