This was supposed to be posted last night, but as I was posting it up, I fell asleep at the desk again, and when I woke, I thought I had already posted it, but must have only previewed it. It wasn't here when I checked in this morning from work. So now, I must complete this post, even if it will be followed by another one in just a few hours.
Here we go:

.Locale: Lowlands of the Rockies Music: .38 Special - Drive Train Prep: Hot Shower / Oil of Olay / Nexus Conditioner Razor: 7/8 DC Custom Wedge Hones: 15/25 on the Star Chestnut Brush: WillN Custom 24mm Silvertip in American Ash / Lather Bowl #1 Post: Cold Water Splash - Alum Uber: Cella + Speik AS: Lucky Tiger Edt: Drakkar Noir Result: I've waited for this razor for weeks, and it did not dissappoint. Very hefty, well balanced with a very sharp point. My technique with larger razors is Meh! at best. I took my time, very light pressure and concentrated on my angles. Wrong angle and be prepared to pay. Over extend the tip, and be prepared to pay. Right angles, and respect for the tip, and the shave was fantastic. A full 3 pass shave, with no cuts, nicks or razor burn. I tell ya, I was gentle on myself with this big beauty. It will take some practice to get the most out of it. Like I consider that 'work'! LOL.
Happy Shaves Men!!!!

Thanked: 17Just ran the Dovo C-Mon Blackie out for a late afternoon shave; a little Proraso cream on the brush and two rough passes followed by RazoRock alum stick and Thayers Lemon... should have spent more time preping the face as now I sit in slight discomfort with no desire to play photographer.
Oh well... no cuts and a night out awaits me.
Enjoy the weekend gents, I'll be back after some more honing practice.

Thats what I call being a RICH man
I am so sorry. To be perfectly honest with You, I'm not sure I can find the words to describe how I feel. People say I take things to emotionally, but I cant help myself (to hell with the emotional detachment, I say...) – I sympathize with all parents and grandparents with little ones who are suffering, in any way.
He will be in my thoughts and I pray he gets better – that they ALL get better...

Thanked: 485Oh, well that's very lovely. Again, I really appreciate the comments given by everyone. You know? The most important thing we can do in this life is love. Sometimes we don't take enough time to love. And I don't just mean our 'loved ones', I mean the guy at the corner shop, the bus driver, everyone. I'm not saying I DO that, I'm saying I SHOULD do that... Anyway, Bailey is a tough little boy at almost four who doesn't shy away from telling the nurses to "F off" (literally), and I'm sure he'd appreciate your thoughts and prayers. And I'll echo your words in a way, Adept, "Peace be with us all, with Grant and his partner, with Jackie, with Bailey and with all who have fears, and doubts and troubles...for we all have them..."
Now, let us get back to sharing this strange obsession we have with shaving, at the World Headquarters of Straight Shaving BROTHERHOOD....Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

You, Bailey and your family are in my prayers. Bailey is indeed a brave person--a bravery sustained no doubt by yours and his entire family's love for him and your unflinching devotion to him.
Persevere--confident in the knowledge that all of us here at SRP too wish him our very best and are pulling for him."Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter." Mark Twain

Thanked: 485Saturday
OK everyone, hold on to your seats, I have some news. Carl went OUT today SOCIALISING!!! YES! SOCIALISING! With SWMBO, small son and big son to a 60th. Big son was the talk of the party with his dreads, beads, nose ring, tatts, ‘tunnel’ in the ear and other assorted embellishments. He’s a very cool looking fellow. Some parents would shudder, but I quite like the look. A lot of family there that I haven’t seen for 20 years. A few glasses of champagne (and now I’m getting stuck into the Oettinger; a very nice and reasonably priced German beer). Came away feeling very sprightly, I must say. So much grey hair and everyone seemed to have gained 100 kilos!
The shave before was with the Klas Törnblom, that I’ll probably pass over the Shapton 16k a few times this afternoon. BTW, stupid newbie question, I know, but can anyone tell me if this blade is ‘normal’ carbon steel or stainless? Seems a bit of a bugger to hone, even considering my ineptitude. I do realise Swedish steel is quite hard.
Made an Über of C&E Nomad, Musgo Real and glycerin. Musgo Real is a very nice cream, isn’t it? Certainly a favourite.
By the way, the background picture is a picture of how I would like to live. Anyone ever feel you were born in the wrong century?
Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?
