    Thursday

    Kropp 6/8 - Vie Long 14832 (Horse & Badger mix) - Tabac - Alum - Aquatonic AS

This is the 1st use of the Vie Long so my choice of soap was as much tactical as anything else; the strong smell of the Tabac adequately masked the "wet dog" smell you get with a new brush.

My thoughts are on the whole very positive. The lather and face feel were good and I've yet to have a brush that hasn't improved with use albeit that can be down to learning how best to use it as much as breaking in.

The shave was excellent as well.
    Regards
    Nic

Prep: 4 mile run, lukewarm shower
    Razor: Texas Shumate
    Brush: VDH Boar
    Soap: Arko Shavestick
    AS: Aloe Vera Gel
    Finish: CK Eternity

Wow, what a great evening. Got home from a dreadful day at work, ate dinner and went to PT. Slowed it down a bit tonight but ran an extra mile. At the end of the run I felt like I could easily bang out another mile to make it five but decided not to. I came home and since there was a nice breeze blowing, I decided to sit on the back porch and cool off for a spell. So I fixed a Maker's Mark, loaded a pipe full of Hearth and Home Stogie and sat outside and enjoyed the cool breeze. A great Hollywood shave (3 passes), my first since I can't remember when but hey, I was having fun, the razor was in fine shape and the tunes were good so why not. Speaking of tunes, here they are

Prep: Hot shower with Real Shaving Exfoliating Scrub
Brush: Frank Shaving 28mm Richmond Silvertip
Razor: 6/8" Thier-Issard Le Canadien Black Horn
    Scuttle: Rober Becker #9 Black
Strop: 30/60 laps on SRD Black Web/Latigo
    Lather: Trumper's Sandalwood
    Toner: Life Brand Witch Hazel
    Moisturizer: Trumper's Sandalwood Skin Food
    Cologne: Trumper's Wellington
    Post: Guinness
Results: A smooth return to the straight. This razor was honed by Maxi and is nice and smooth. The Trumper's cream was nice, but hasn't wowed me enough to make "The List". As usual, full writeup in The Noob Chronicle. Happy shaving, SOTD brothers!

    Default Friday

Day off today, lovely late start to the day. I needed it after a very busy week and a particularly busy day. I found out I am traveling to Cairo for 4 days from Sunday, so had to stay late to get a few things finished up.

I should have internet access there and I will be taking a straight razor in my checked luggage, not sure how interesting my posts might be with the same kit every day, perhaps I will manage to find some nice backdrops for photographs (if I get any free time)

    Todays shave

Prep: Gym, followed by a lovely long soak in the tub.
Strop: SRD Premium 1 Leather, 30,70
    Brush: Kent Boar
    Soap: Cella, Crema Sapone
    Razor Dovo, "Flowing"
    AS: Old Spice Lagoon.

I am always impressed by this Razor. I think we take Dovo's for granted as they are so easily available.

The Shave was excellent, just what I needed, sadly I have to face the housework that I have neglected for a couple of weeks, No wait, I won't be here to see this mess after tomorrow, it can wait till next week! Have a Great Day

    Strop: SRD horse
    Soap: T&H Ultimate
    Brush: Rooney
    A/S balm: T&H Sandalwood

Don't know anything about this heavy razor (purchased through Classifieds - thanks mainaman) but it's one of my absolute closest shavers...

    Have a great Friday!

This weekend we'll organize our trip to the West.
We watched an excellent report about this great location yesterday in the evening. Never seen before the Yellowstone N.P.
    We'll do it...next year.
