Result:	I have a lot to be thankful for today. Been a while since I shaved last, 3-4 days, hard to recall for sure, LOL. I had to haul out old faithful in my personally restored Challenge hollow point. For a razor 120+ years old, this one is still an incredible shaver. I keep in mind 'whisker reduction' as a guide for first passes, but this one almost always leaves you impressed with what it takes off in 1 WTG pass. An XTG and you really don't need to do more for risk of burning. 'Thankfully' speaking, it was an amazing shave I sorely needed and deserved, LOL!! Oh, and Thanks Dunc, I blushed when you posted my collection as being one you admired. To Those who Celebrate It: Happy Thanksgiving My Friends!

Well. Been here a long time (kind of) and have never put up a shave of the day. Why? - You all take much better photos than I can!

Today that’s changing however, as I have a certain razor that is begging to be shared. SO... here she is, my 10/8 Joseph Rodgers "Dutch Rattler'!

This BBW is a real stunner (restored and honed by Undream) and a great shaver to boot! - It makes a fantastic noise as it glides through the whiskers - an almost 'hollow' ring, despite its immense size and heavy grind. Today it teamed up with my 24mm Thater Olive wood, Proraso, Thayer's original and Nivea Sensitive aftershave.

Day off work today, so I decided to have a really relaxing shave. I received some Dominica Bay Rum and some Pinaud Clubman the other night. I absolutely love both of them, maybe the Pinaud more, and have been absolutely drenching myself in the stuff. Yesterday the Clubman scent lasted pretty much all day; and I could still smell some even after my workout at the gym (very sore lats today).

Today’s shave was with the razor that I use the most; the Wade and Butcher with the Canadian Maple scales, by Nathan. I’m not sure if it’s the steel or the way Nathan honed it, but whatever I do to it the edge remains beautifully smooth (or maybe my honing isn’t too bad after all?).

I used the Crabtree and Evelyn Nomad soap. Normally I use a cream, and normally I only use the Nomad in an Überlather but, as I had time, I wanted to see if I could get a good lather out of it. I did, by using no additional water other than what was on the brush after five gentle shakes (I soaked the soap in water as I showered, that is, I put a little bit of hot water on top of the soap to soften it). All in all a very nice single pass shave.

PS, I keep putting my hands to my face and taking deep breaths of that Bay Rum smell, it’s incredible!

“Just a COTTON pickin’ MINUTE!” I hear the observant exclaim. “What’s going on here?” “Didn’t you just post a SOTD for Friday?” “Are those LSD and marijuana experiments of your youth finally catching up with you?”

To explain, yes, this is my second SOTD for Friday, and yes, I do realise it. I decided to shave off my goatee, leaving my moustache and ‘soul patch’. I’ve been thinking about it for a while now, esp as it’s a little sparse down there, mainly due to my habit of nervously plucking on the chin hairs during meetings in a ‘contemplative’ manner.

The Burrell wiped away several years of growth (that I’d attacked before hand with the Sassoon Turbo-Pro hair clippers) with ease. This was the first time I’d shaved my chinny chin chin with a straight, and it was just like being a noob again. I’d remembered what I’d seen in the videos and got no nicks or cuts at all. Finished it off with the Mühle R 89 with an Astra blade.

I finished with a cold water splash and requiring all the help I could get after this momentous event, utilised Witch Hazel, Dominica Bay Rum, Proraso Liquid Cream After Shave AND Pinaud Clubman (in that order).

OH, it took the wife about ½ an hour to notice when she got home. I think I look very Spanish now, a little Conquistador-ish. I’m now contemplating nurturing the moustache and soul patch with Clubman moustache wax (probably the black tinted one; I’m needing that assistance these days).

PS, the wife just said I’ve got a Rodger Ramjet chin...I think maybe she wants, um, sex...
