    Tue:

    Hot shower
    hair conditioner
    rooney small style 1
    gold-dachs soap
    5/8 puma

Turns out the puma has a very slightly warped blade, I can't see it with my eyes but the magic marker test doesn't lie. Fortunately the blade is very flexible so a light touch in the middle of the blade on the outbound pass does the trick. Gave it 10 laps on the pink arkansas last night and had a great shave this morning.

The second shave with the Genco was definitely an enjoyable one. Smooth and comfortable. I was considering giving it away and replacing it with something else, but it looks like it will stick around in the rotation.

    Default sotd

Got in Lynn's dvd in this weekend. Honed a new hen and rooster razor like he shows on the dvd. It passed the hht WOW what a trip. Not being used to a actual SHARP razor. I'll have to git used to it, got some razor rash or so while shavng. Well at least now I'll have a sharp razor to use after the rash heals. Otherwise having a great time learning.

    Thanks
    Eddie

    Default Puma!!!

    I can't believe this!

but, in tone with the tradition:

    2 days' stubble
    Hot shower
    NO conditioner
    Tabac soap
    Burma Shave boar brush
    Tony Miller hanging strop
    Puma 6/8 round point hollow
    ice cube
    Lucky Tiger AS Toner
    L'Occitane CADE AS balm

I have a number of new (to me) razors to try, as well as my current favorites, and after some consideration decided to go with this particular Puma, which I had honed yesterday. Am I glad I did!

The first 6/8 Goldedge shave was a revelation - after I thought I am more of a 6/8 wedge guy, it shaved unbelievably. However, it was not honed by me. Just now, this Puma delivered an even more pleasurable shave, after I honed her myself. It was a great experience, quite elating! Zero nicks, no abrasions, etc. WOW! Now I know why people love this brand. BTW, very easy to hone. She is not only the best shaver I have tried, but also quite beautiful, despite the fact that it doesn't have fancy gold etchings or exotic scales.

I cannot remember who opened my eyes to these razors, but it was somebody here at SRP - thank you, unknown mentor!

    Cheers
    Ivo

    hair conditioner
    rooney small style 1
    gold-dachs spezial soap
    feather AC/super pro blade
    harris face milk

I usually haul out the feather about every two weeks, and this was the first time I've used it since I started using hair conditioner replaced lather in my prep. It works as well for the feather as for straights, this is the first time I've used the feather and not had it get tangled up in that tough patch on the right side of my jaw.

    Thur:

    Rooney small style 1
    gold-dachs soap
    7/8 Friodur square point
    Harris face milk

No hair conditioner today, the maid service put it up somewhere and now I can't find it... Great shave anyway, though, this oryx-scaled beauty is one of my favorite razors and rarely disappoints.

    no shave for the wicked...

I am going to this huge party on Fri and have my reputation to uphold. the reputaiton being that I hate shaving, I seemingly never shave (unless I have high-level business meetings with customers) and always have designer stubble. if only my friends knew...

This is funny though, only one of my friends knows I started shaving and use a straight. talk about need to come out of the closet

    Cheers

Ivo, I think it's time and you inadvertently stumbled upon the best way to go about it. Let your hair grow today. Tomorrow, take a shower and let conditioner sit on your face while you're soaping up. Then take your best shaver and get the smoothest BBS shave ever. When your friends go into a collective shock, tell'em you went straight
