    Prep: Hot Shower
    Soap: Palmolive Stick
    Brush: Haryali 26mm Best Badger
Razor: John & William Wragg 11/16
    Astringent: Alum Block
    ASB: Wilkinsons Hydro

Only the second shave with a razor successfully sharpened by myself, so still a fair bit of smug self satisfaction!
Really good shave today, especially effective WTG first pass, one of those times when it just works

    Early Friday Morning
Razor - Thomas Turner "Lancet Edge"
    Strop - My Own Creation
Brush - Vie Long Horse and Badger Mix
    Soap - Culmak
Post - Alum & Old Spice Whitewater

What an edge this beauty took tonight, my old Sheffield razors seem to like my new strop. I don't know how old this razor is, it looks as though it should be post war and has the phrase Cutlers to his majesty on it so it must have been pre 1952 when our current Queen was crowned. Not that any of that matters, what does though is that the shave was excellent.
    Regards
    Nic

    Thursday Evening Shave
Prep: Hot shower with Real Shaving Creamy Face Wash
    Lather: Irisch Moos Face Lather
Brush: King Custom Bocote with 24mm TGN Black Badger
Razor: Manhattan Cutlery "The Celebrated" 6/8" in Black Micarta (for now)
Strop: SRD Premium IV 25/50 SRD Black Latigo 0/50
    Astringent: Alum & Witch Hazel
    AS: Trumper's Spanish Leather
    Balm: Trumper's Unscented
Comments: The big Manhattan is going to take some getting used to, but I was also a bit disappointed with this brush. I think black badger is not for me and this brush may be re-knotted with a TGN Finest Fan knot for face-lathering. That said, even with a bit of a thin lather, I got a pretty decent shave from this heavy-bladed old smiler. Irisch Moos is a nice soap, but I think I did it a disservice with this brush, which just doesn't agree with me. Only a few more straight shaves until Vegas, then it's DE for about 5 days! The Noob Chronicle will be updated with my brush tribulations tomorrow. Until then, have a great night and a better Friday morning, my SOTD Brothers!
