Last Shave of the year!!!!
EJ BARLEY With Feather Blade-RazoRock Cacao/AOS Ocean Kelp Cream-DB 1.5 Scuttle-Glenn Ey 24MM Silvertip-John Varvatos ASB-Creed Royal OUD Cologne
This was a great way to close out the year. Great lather and a damm near BBS/CBS in three passes. Loved the scent and so did SWMBO which is what matters after all right? Then topped off with Varvatos ASB anthenhn the Royal OUD.....Awesomeme.
I decided to end on a DE this year as startitomorrowrow it's JaNorton time!!!! I encourage everyone to at least watch this as I'm learning quite about what I thought was good honing maybe could be tweaked a bit.. Have a great safe new year my brethren!!!!"We sleep soundly in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm."

Pre: Long, hot, relaxing shower
Lather: Vitos cream + Williams soap + glycerin + lanolin
Brush: Morris and Forndran 2-band Blond Badger w/ Horn handle
Strop: SRP Premium II 20/50
Razor: Toyo Shoën Burg 665
Post: Alum block
Astringent: Thayers WH Toner
Moisturizer: Yuzu/Vetyver/Shea butter/Lanolin
AS: Musgo Real Classic Scent
Result: A very relaxing and satisfying shave, astonishingly close and amazingly smooth.
This is one of four western style Japanese razors that I have in my rotation and they all are top tier shavers. Truly remarkable tools. This is really the reason I came to wet shaving and straight razors.

Sat, Dec 31
Brush: Omega Boar
Soap/Creme: Wilkinsons sword stick (face lathered)
Razor:1912
Blade: Gem
Pre: hot towel
Post: Alum block then Witch hazel
Hair Groom: none
Result: BBS, but very harsh. I just don't get as good a lather face lathering as I do bowl lathering, and the Wilkinson stick being new to me didn't help. I think I'll stick to a CCS type shave with my sticks for a while and stick to my best soaps bowl lathered for BBS days.

Thanked: 485God willing, Bailey is in at the moment for his last treatment, then it's a bunch of scans, another arm operation and a life of praying and hoping. I think I've been too fortunate up to here in my life, lulled into a false sense of security. I wish health and happiness to you and your family, and to all my mates here..now to the Norton to get started on this "JaNorton 2012" thing...
