    Happy New Year SOTD Brothers!
Prep: Hot Shower with Real Shaving Exfoliating Scrub
Razor: Thiers-Issard 6/8" Le Canadien Snakewood
Brush: PC Woodcraft 24mm Snakewood Super Silvertip
    Scuttle: Robert Becker #9 Black
Strop: 25/50 SRD Webbing/episaacs homemade 'roo
    Lather: TOBS Shaving Shop
    AS: TOBS Shaving Shop
    ASB: TOBS Shaving Shop
    Cologne: TOBS Shaving Shop
Comments: A trip to the Shaving Shop before a New Year's Day dinner with the family was a pleasure. I am shave-testing this razor so I have a point of reference before diving into JaNorton, so this was a great way to get a feel for it. This was the first razor I ever honed and it is shaving quite nicely with an edge off the Norton 8k. I am loath to blunt the edge and start over, but it should be fun! I will have The Noob Chronicle updated shortly. Happy New Year, SOTD Brotherhood!

Tom: That Herder is one beautiful chopper buddy. Use her in good health

Theseus: I forgot to mention it: Congrats on your 1000th post. Quite an accomplishment

This JaNorton honing is becoming quite the sensation it seems. Will follow all your progresses diligently.

Thank you all for the congratulations on my 1000th post. I thought that it was only fitting to share it with the SOTD brotherhood. I also want to thank you all for making me insanely jealous on a daily basis with your beautiful photos and shaving hardware/software. I look forward to the new year and sharing post 2000 with you all with a nice custom(hopefully).

1000 is a milestone, it's amazing me how quickly I'm approaching the same point, my other obsessions tapered out way earlier than this. I see you've changed your Avatar, as have I. There should be a place you can introduce your new Avatar, 'cause sometimes we get used to 'seeing' someone, don't we?

    Back To Work
Prep: Hot Shower with Real Shaving Exfoliating Scrub
Razor: Yama-Masa Kamisori (semi-rescued by Nagakichi Kamisori)
Brush: Bryce C 24mm Silvertip Ironwood
    Scuttle: Robert Becker #9 Black
Strop: 25/50 SRD Webbing/episaacs homemade 'roo
    Lather: T&H Trafalgar
    Astringent: Witch Hazel
    ASB: T&H Trafalgar
    Cologne: T&H Trafalgar
Comments: I still haven't had the time to sit and get on the hones for JaNorton, though the night is still young. I had this Yama-Masa kamisori that I've been meaning to test for a while, so today was the day. Well, either I don't have the knack for a kamisori yet, or this one needs to be honed properly, because it wasn't nice. The Nagakichi sort of saved the shave, though my ingrown problem on the neck reared its ugly head. Too bad, because the Trafalgar is such a sweet product line. Oh well, I'm still learning! Anyway, I'll be hitting the hones tonight or tomorrow and then it's JaNorton time. I'm already working on updated The Noob Chronicle with my neck woes and kamisori foibles. Happy shaving, my SOTD Brothers!
