I had an urge to shave with the W&B tonight. Its just so much fun to shave with.
3 slow luxurious passes and I'm smooth as a baby's butt, and my face feels fresh & fantastic.
What a great 1st shave of the year.
Hope you all had a great new year, thanks for all the great posts and pics

First shave in 2012
Pre-Shave: A warm shower Brush: Thäter LE SRP 2011 Razor: Filarmonica Sub Cero #14 Honing Regimen: Norton 4/8K Strop: Neil Miller Cordovan Shell/genuine linen. Soap/Cream: Castle Forbes Lime Scuttle:Schwarzweisskeramik, Large White Astringent: Alum After shave Balm: Castle Forbes Lime EdT: Penhaligon's English Fern Results: I've decided to join in on the JaNorton event on SRP. That means there will be only 2 different razors to use for me in January. And they will be honed on a Norton 4/8K hone, followed by a stropping without pastes. I look forward to this event, should be very educational and a lot of fun. Todays Shave was quite decent. Good products and a reasonable edge. Sure, it could have been smoother/sharper, but it shaved, I'm smooth and without burns of any kind.

What a nice shave, one of those where it all seems to fall together and after three days without a shave (shave sick leave) it was an even greater feeling to have such a nice shave . HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
... and I almost forgot my SOTY (first Shot Of espresso of The Year):

I really enjoyed yesterdays shave with a Toyo Shoën Burg 665 frameback so well that I dug out my 663.
Pre: Hot shower + Vitos preshave cream
Lather: Vitos cream + Classic Shaving Sandalwood soap + glycerin + lanolin
Brush: Thäter Silvertip
Razor: Toyo Shoën Burg 663 frameback
Post: Alum block
PSB: Pre de Provence Shea Butter balm
ASL: Musgo No.2 Moss Oak
Results: Just as previous, this was the type of shave that sets the bar. A wonderful way to start the new year.
Not paying attention, I posted this first in yesterdays thread. Here it is for the new year.
Happy new year to all!
