To the W&B this morning. I honed this on the weekend the same as the Klas Törnblom, 20 laps Norton 8k with slurry, 20 8k without slurry (last 10 very light), 20 laps Shapton 16k. It felt excellent. I actually did part of the left side of my face with my right hand for a change, to try and better get the hairs that grow across ways towards the back of my head. Normally, when I use my left hand and try and get them ATG I can’t see where I’m going, and don’t do a lot of that for fear of running into my goatee. The O Melhor was luxuriant.
Have a great rest of the week and thanks for your posts, some great photos here…

A sticky smooth and comfortable shave. I like the Caswell-Massey Number Six when it is cold outside.
Too bad Caswell-Massey has stopped making the Number Six.
Strop: MickR's Roo Hide
Brush: Comoy Badger
Soap: Proraso
Razor: Royal Invicta 6/6, Long Life 145 11/16
Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel
Balm: C.O. Bigelow Mentha
A/S: Old Spice
These 2 both received a touch up last night.
The Invicta passed with flying colors, the Long Life needs a little more work.
As a result, the Invicta did most of the work tonight. 2 passes and a DFS
Feels good to be nice and smooth after a couple of days off.

Sorry about the lack of participation lately boys. My evenings have been consumed doing research. I'm planning to build my own small forge very soon
Thanks for the great posts and pics gentlemen.

Another fine shave by this beautiful Maxterpiece. Photos simply do not do the paua shell scales justice! When you combine a good blade with outstanding software, you know you're going to come out right! I feel great and ready to start my day!

Finish: Nitro EdT (a Hugo knock-off)
A rare week day dome and face shave. I just felt like a bit of playing this morning. While both shaves were pretty good, the edge on this razor needs a bit of work and just isn't as crisp as I normally like.

Wellington Woodcraft Silvertip
Jack Black Supreme Cream
L'Oreal After Shave Balm

First time using the Jack Black shave cream. Using the face lathering method it made a very nice lather that easily lasted through three passes. The Cobra glided on my face to produce another silk smooth shave. I can't put this razor down.

Dovo Best Qualilty 6/8
Men-U Boar brush
TSD Irish Spring type soap
Booster June Clover
Pinaud Clubman
Great shave this morning! I decided to use the Booster June Clover instead of witch hazel this morning and since the Booster scents do not last long on me, I topped off with Pinaud Clubman, which provided a great finish!
Razor: Gem 1912 with Gem SS blades-Brush: Fuller synthetic-Cream: Erasmic-AS: Thayers Lavender and plenty of styptic :( -Result: today was a reminder of why you should never hurry a shave, even when using a safety razor. I must have peeled away several layers of skin and I think I bled more than I have in my entire 15+ years of straight shaving combined. You know it's bad when the alcohol free witch hazel burns worse than Clubman. I guess it's time for a break from shaving for a few days to heal up.

A great shave today. Not perfect but how often is it really? Very comfortable and just a few "shorties". Off to play with guns!

Good evening Gents!
Shave prep: Face wash
Brush: Omega boar
Soap: Mitchell's Wool Fat
Scuttle: Robert Becker large
Razor: Thiers-Issard 'Le Dandy', 6/8 hollow round point
Strop: nun2sharp's hanging leather strop
After Shave Splash: Rhómme home made splash, earthy spicy floral fragrance with a touch of citrus on top.
Notes: Touched up the edge on a Dragon's Tongue before tonight's shave. I have to admit, this shave was more like going through the motions rather than a full blown shave. After yesterday's exeptional shave there was not much stubble, and under normal conditions I might not have bothered with a shave at all tonight. Still, I got hones to test, so I solider on :) The dragon's tongue delivers a nice smooth edge, not super sharp but more than adequate. 2 comfortable passes back to full BBS.

Gentlemen, today's blue plate special:
Razor: Stainless steel Feather DE
Blades: Feather
Pre-shave: Castle Forbes
Brush: Semogue 620 boar
Soap: Tabac
Lather: Face
Scuttle: Moss
Alum: Tulumba
Witch hazel: Thayers Super Medicated
Balm: Institute Karite
Aftershave: Old Spice
Finisher: Dreaming of a soft and fragrant tropical breeze, a chartreuse drink in my hand, and watching a ballet of mermaids.
Your hands are still troubling you, I see. Is there any hope for you to return to the straight razor, or are you going to have to continue enjoying the pleasure of the DE for the foreseeable future? I have seen an alarming number of your beautiful razors up on the classifieds.
Hello jdto:
Yes, the hands are not working as well as they used to. During the week I shave with the double edge. The straight is reserved for the weekends. I have this weekend planned: Saturday's shave will be with a 1/4 hollow Le Grelot with a thumb notch. Sunday I'll have the pleasure of soaring with my Robert Williams 7/8 Spanish point and white bone scales — what a gorgeous razor.
And, yes, I've had to sell some of my razors so that other gentlemen can enjoy them, since I am limited these days. One of these days I should be able to get back on the straight razor horse — I hope.
Stay well, my dear friend, and thanks.
Obie
nicknbleeding, my dear friend, thank you for the kind words. Soon, indeed.
Jdto,
How kind of you. Many thanks.
