Good evening gents! I hope the week is off to a good start for all of you. Once again Im late to post but I was not going to miss this one. A remarkable shave today with a straight newly restored by our own GSSIXGUN.
Todays S.O.T.D. was a minimalist as my shaves go but superb none the less!
Hot Shower / MWF / Carl Monkhouse / Omega Boar / Dominican Bay Rum w/ Lime
Not my best pic ever so Im including the one Glen took before he sent it back to me.
    Have a great week fellas!

Thats a damn find looking blade, but I expect nothing less when it comes to Geln's work. Curious as to the specs on the blade itself. Regardless, I hope you enjoy that beautiful speciman for years to come!

It originally was a 5/8 but Im pretty sure Glen had to grind it down a touch. He was able to save the original cracked Ice scales as well. check out this post it has some more pics including pre restore. http://straightrazorpalace.com/honin...ills-suck.html

Welcome to the SOTD, Justin. Great gear, especially the Frederic Maille!

I decided to use my Hess today. Its been a very long time. I brought my New Thuri. The ones they sell at Timber tools and Toolshop. This is my 3rd try on the hone. The first time i didnt like the results. The 2nd time i though i could see some promise. I did the left side of my face. Then did 100 laps with water only. While doing the laps i felt a tiny irritations from the side i just shaved. But still a close shave on that pass. So i shaved the right side. Even though the left side was smooth which is also the easier side to get smooth. The right was smoother. I did my second pass and i recieved and awesome close shave. BBS Even got my though spot, my jaw line. Not many razor can do that!
