Default A Truly DFS Shave, getting ready for Friday!!!! :)

First of all, welcome to our new guests!! Great posts for your first times out!! Keep them coming!

    .
Prep: Hot Shower / Very Hot Water Soak /Rise baby face shave gel rubbed in after the first pass
Razor: 4/8 Salamandar from the Salamandar Razor Works, Solingen
    Hones: 100/300 felt/3" Chestnut Strop
Brush: 24mm Silvertip in Honey Locust
Uber: VDH rubbed in first, then brushed in
AS: Alum Block & Osage Rub
    Edc: British Sterling
Result: Honed this razor fresh today, I am participating in the C-Nat-athon xXMackXx started to get results on the use of the CNat from those who own one. I was amazed at the quality of the shave I achieved with it for the first time ever. I had to re-lap both sides and this time took the stone out to 8k and polished it so it shines even when dry. After the normal progression thru to 8k I could have shaved with this razor already. But 200 X's additonal and an additional 100 laps on the leather and I was so impressed!! It was an amazing DFS shave. The Osage Rub puts any fires out, but I didn't have any. The Alum left me with hardly any feedback and for once no nicks, burn, weepers or stingers. It was really a DFS.
    .

    Sorry no pic tonight!!

Happy Shaving Men! I sure love the fellowship here!

    Mike
