Gentlemen, today's shave was jolly. I chose a pair of Mozart violin concertos to complement the ritual. That reminded me of what the humorist Ambrose Bierce said about the violin: "An instrument to tickle human ears by friction of a horse's tail on the entrails of a cat."

Thanked: 146My Barber Rocks!
Don't really know where to start with this one but here goes.
My old barber is semi-retired and not always available so I have been in search of a new barber.
I noticed that a shop down the road had opened again and thought I would give it a try.
Rick is one of those old school great sorta guys. He gave me a great haircut, and he shaves the back of your neck with a shavette! I sent my brother down to him and he got a face shave (his first) and loved it!
I was already going to keep going to him but the last time I was in we were talking about straights and he pulled out a naniwa 12k and said "I've had this since barber school and don't use it, here you go if you would like it"...needless to say, I was completely bowled over by his generosity, and he refused any sort of payment! Needless to say, I tuned up a few razors and the results were spectacular! So.. Today's Shave,
Prep: Hot Shower/ Proraso pre-post creme
Brush: Thater 4125-2
Scuttle: G5
Soap: CADE
Razor: Peter J Michels "Square Deal" 6/8, square point
Post: CADE ASB
Result: I think my shaves have just went to the next level! Silky smooth edge and BBS!
