Hello all, Happy Thursday! This is my first post for shave of the day and to me it's a special one. I started wet shaving about three months ago, honing a month ago and re-scaling yesterday. The razor I used, Joseph Rogers "Hamburg Ring" 5/8, was an eBay special that I bought for $19.95. The razor came with cracked scales, some rust, and a blade so dull I couldn't cut warm butter with it (I really tried, just to level-set my honing). I purchased another cheap razor (it had chips in the blade, but the scales were near perfect) for $4 at an antique store. I unpinned the Rodgers, cleaned up the blade, re-pinned with the the $4 scales and honed my little heart out (Naniwa Superstones - 2K, 5K, 8K and 12K) finished with Crox on an Illinois Russian Strop and shaved with it today for the first time. Incredible BBS shave!
