I refuse to give up on this soap! So today I used a very wet brush loaded heavily and went straight to the face. The lather whipped up thick and luxurious. When I started the first pass, lather was up to 1/2 inch thick in places and the scent was absolutely intoxicating. By the time my first pass was finished, the lather had thinned considerably, but was still efficacious. I had a DFS after a single pass - this soap really leads to a great shave. After some touch ups and a light XTG pass, I was near BBS and ready to finish getting dressed. The Le Vainqueur is a new addition. It's a complex somewhat funky scent that was allegedly made for Napoleon. The notes are listed as: nutmeg, ginger, melon, citruses and watermelon; middle notes are lavender, jasmine, lily-of-the-valley and geranium; base notes are leather, orris, amber and musk. I'm waiting for the dry down, but so far it's wearing close to the skin and definitely shows some animalic tendencies. An interesting new addition!

Results: A great shave, BBS, little irritation

I tried out my PHIG last night. My Boker was no sharper as a result, but definately smoother than finshing on my barber hone. Mission accomplished.

I've had a couple of attempts at lathering this goats milk soap, with limited success, but I got it right tonight with the Uber combination.
The lather was quite nice, and the razor performed flawlessly.
2 and a half passes to BBS town.

Result: Holy Crap! This was one unexpected outstanding shave. Went with the all Proraso line up as the weather is Hot. But 3 slow relaxing passes later I'm BBS and in menthol heaven. Heading out the door and look out world.

Today I tested out my honing skills on my newly acquired Torrey Extra Hollow Ground. With some trepidation, I stopped her up and commenced to lather with my new Semoque 803. Today's soap was brought to me by Mitchell's Wool Fat. I must say I am rather smitten with the brush as well as the soap.I finished of the shave with an AOS Alum Block and some Caswell-Massey Sandalwood Balm and Cologne. I was very happy with the results. Though not a perfect shave it was one of the best I have had. The razor performed well. I am guessing with improved honing skills by me or by that of pro the blade would excel. Hmm, I cannot leave my face alone. Silky.

Hello all, Happy Thursday! This is my first post for shave of the day and to me it's a special one. I started wet shaving about three months ago, honing a month ago and re-scaling yesterday. The razor I used, Joseph Rogers "Hamburg Ring" 5/8, was an eBay special that I bought for $19.95. The razor came with cracked scales, some rust,and a blade so dull I couldn't cut warm butter with it (I really tried, just to level-set my honing). I purchased another cheap razor (it had chips in the blade, but the scales were near perfect) for $4 at an antique store. I unpinned the Rodgers, cleaned up the blade, re-pinned with the the $4 scales and honed my little heart out (Naniwa Superstones - 2K, 5K, 8K and 12K) finished with Crox on an Illinois Russian Strop and shaved with it today for the first time. Incredible BBS shave!
