Sun May 06th - Sat 12th
Location: 36° 0'5"N - 115° 15' 21"W
Razor: Filarmonica 13DT
Brush: Thater SRP LE
Soap: MDC
Astringent: Thayers Witch Hazel
ASB: Nivea Extra Sensitive + Lanolin
EDC: Habit Rouge Guerlain
For today's shave I went back to basic. Top notch products with top notch ingredients. MDC doesn't need any introduction but for all who don't know, this soap is one of the best you'll ever find with quality nourishing properties. The Filarmonica 13 knows no enemies, obstacles, dangers and surprises. Mows away those whiskers like a true warrior. A few drop of lanolin mixed together with the extra sensitive balm from Nivea soothes, protects and nourishes your skin, big business. And the habit rouge? Addicting and one of my old time favorites. Love it. love it, love it.
Wishing y'all a great shave!

Thanked: 485Sunday
I actually have two shaves to speak of. I shaved last night, even thought I’d shaved that morning as I’d got a cheap Palmolive shave stick and I wanted to try it out ‘properly’ so to speak. I wrapped it in cling film and placed it in hot water for a few minutes until it softened a little, and then cut it into slices. I then pressed the slices into the bottom of my vintage scuttle. They stuck there quite firmly. I showered etc as usual; and tried making a lather like I normally do with a stick (i.e. rubbing it on my wet face, then face lathering). I wasn’t impressed. I then washed that off and made a lather from the soap in the scuttle. Again, I was not impressed. I’m not sure what I expected for 2.50 or what ever it was but at this stage it appears to me to be rubbish. Then again, I put Arko in a similar category. But I’m no soap aficionado.
This morning’s shave, though, was with Body shop Macca Root. Excellent cream. Lathers up in a 0.25 of a minute. It doesn’t need a lot of water added or a lot of whipping.
The De Pews did a great job each time. I like this razor more each time I use it, esp as I get used to its little ‘issues’ as they relate to how I hone it.
