No straight shave since April 17. Surgery on left wrist; removal of three bones due to osteoarthritis:
Ten more days of being splinted and shaving with a miserable triple track disposable. My shaves have left my face looking like this:
The only thing making it bearable is face lathering with Mama Bear's soap and badger bristles. Wish me luck learning how to straight shave again. (Personally, I can't think of better therapy, physical or mental.)
Cheers!

Hang in there, Brother. I hope you heal up nicely. If you want, PM me and I will send you a DE and some Personnas. Gotta be better than that!

Thanked: 485Monday
I’m a little tired today, last night I went to a concert to see The Brian Jonestown Massacre, a psychedelic rock band I’ve loved for years. Finally they came to South Australia. They were excellent, trippy psychedelic rock with six guitars; just incredible. This morning’s shave was a little scary, I wasn’t really up to it (or work) but some of the 'automatic function' I spoke negatively of last week helped out on this occasion. I think Body Shop Macca Root cream could be sold as a ‘straight out of the tube’ cream it lathers that easily. You almost feel ripped off as you hardly have the opportunity to actually lather it!
Razor: Schulze Wiener Schaber Pre-Shave: None Cream: Body Shop Macca Root After Shave: Truefitt and Hill Trafalgar

05-21-2012, 10:01 AM #34Prep: Hot shower
Brush: Muhle, 25 mm silvertip
Razor: Magnet (with lovely custom wooden scales by Neil Miller)
Super: Floris no 89 + Top Secret
AS: Lacoste Challenge
Strops: Neil Miller
Result: Very, very clean
This super lather combo was nothing special, I think the Floris alone would have been as good as the combo was.
... and:
Nice ... Carl

Sometimes your shave is just so "routine" that it takes you by surprise. The XPec just exploded in rich, creamy, protective lather. The Friodur was a velvet squeegee, and I was left BBS before I realized it. The weekend's stubble just seemed to disappear... Well, it's a grew way to start a Monday, let me tell you that!

Hope you feel well and heal quickly.
Today's Shave.
Hot shower
Canned Goo
Gillette multiblade
Aramis AS
Another canned goo shave. Quick and fast, good enough for move in day. Seems like I've been moving the girls in and out of Universities for way too long. I hope it stops raining for a few hours so I don't have to soaked. Been raining here since I left NJ on Thursday. Anxious to get home.
Have a great day.

Thanked: 485I think I've missed something here :-) Did you fly somewhere and couldn't take your razors? Could you not take a DE? Why are you doing this to yourself? We've all had a really good chat about you and we would like you to know that we're concerned and are here for you; this is a safe place...
