Prep: Hot Shower, Conditioner on beard
Razor(s): J Wiss and Sons Cosmo and T Noonan and Sons Arabic
    Brush: VDH Boar
    Soap: TSD Iced Sub Zero
    AS: Alum Block/ Skin Bracer
Finish: La Toja Manantiales Agua De Colonia
Results: Had a handful of razors that have needed a touch up hone for quite some time but my indolence kept me using the four or five that were still in great shape for the last couple months. This morning I touched up these two and three others I'll be testing out this week. The T. Noonan is a great looking razor but the edge just never seems to make it past...well marginal. This one is gonna require a bit more work. All indications were that it was plenty sharp but it just didn't seem to shave all that great. The J. Wiss Cosmo on the other hand was absolutely insane sharp and effortlessly did all the work on the dome and two clean up passess on the face after a lackluster initial pass with the Arabic.

Great 3 pass shave even though I mucked up the Lather a bit with too much water. I can't remember the last time that happened. Oh well have a great safe holiday all! The Army Uniform pic is about 3 years old also.

    Monday

I’m feeling a bit more positive about things today. Thanks for all the supportive comments; they’re greatly appreciated. No shave on the weekend at all. I WAS going to go with the De Pews, but thought it’d struggle, even though I’m no heavily-bearded type, so I went with the sharper Schulze; and I was glad I did. I’m trying to shun anything containing Sodium Laural Sulfates and the like at the moment, but was upset to find my two favourite creams at the moment (Top Secret and O Melhor) contain it. Body Shop doesn’t seem to nor, it seems, Crabtree and Evelyn Nomad. I remember a while ago I used to love the Über from those two, so that’s a good thing! I’ve been researching more natural shaving soaps, and I’m currently leaning towards Madame Scodioli’s soaps. I haven’t found the ingredient list yet; I hope it’s pleasing! Might get a T shirt too, plus some ‘Step Right Up’ AS.

Anyway, did weights tonight which felt good. I’ve been concentrating on my arms and front deltoids lately, and I’m making some progress again.

Once again, thanks for the supportive comments.
