    Prep: Hot shower
    Razor: Boker Red Injun 102
    Brush: VDH Boar
    Soap: Arko Shavestick
    AS: Skin Bracer
    Finish: Clubman Bay Rum
Result: Great shave! Today's background is the pier at Ballast Point Park. Having grown up in South Tampa, I spent many a lazy summer day fishing off this pier. Let's see 1987 would have been my first full year in Alaska. Those indeed were the days!

Yeah, I've done some playing around on Photobucket. Really some interesting capabilities.

    Tuesday, June 12
Prep: Insanity, week 3 day 2 + Hot shower
Strop: SRD premium fabric x 50, red latigo x 100
Razor: Early to mid 1800 tail-less Litchenberger from gssixgun
    Brush: Thater 4292/4B
    Lather: RazoRock XXX
    Post: Alum + OS Classic
    Result: BBS

One of the best things I love about RAD, and the beast that feeds it, is the first shave with a new razor. This is my first "vintage" blade, restored by Glen. Of course, the craftsmanship is outstanding, but the shave was even better. I'm really beginning to love the sweet silence of wedges. Efficiency at its finest. It took a minute to get used to a razor without a tail, but the end result could not have been better.

This is actually yesterday's shave, but today's shave will pretty much be exactly the same save for the cream. I just recieved the Port razor, I like it so far!

    The Shave

    Pre: Hot Shower
Razor: Port Safety Razor w/ Super Platinum
    Brush: Kingsley Badger
Cream: EJ Sandalwood (I really like this stuff, it just took me a while to realize it needs tons of water)
    Bowl: Vintage Stoneware
    Post: Thayer's and L'Occitane ASB

    6/12/12

    Stephan's preshave
    Emperor, proraso red
    Tm strop 60 laps
Boker extra hollow 6/8, merkur heavy classic
    Thayer's as, lotion

This razor really sings on the strop! I haven't managed a great shave with it in two tries though. Today I was shocked at the amount of stubble after my first pass. After that I re lathered and did a wtg w my merkur to clean up. I'll keep trying to figure this one out.

    -Nice Shave-
Prep: Warm Shower and AOS Preshave (1st Pass)
    Soap: Mitchell's Wool Fat
    Razor: EM Dickinson Invicta
Strop: Homemade Paddle @ 100 passes
Toner: Thayer's blended with some Lavender EO
Post: Cold Towel, Skincado Combat Balm, and AOS ASB

Man, I think my honing skills are getting there. I touched up the Invicta on a C12k and what a difference. This razor is crazy sharp. Give me another 10 years and might give some of the pros a run for their money. Anyway, today was a slow shave by design. I took my time to get the hard spots. The only spot really left to conquer now is the bottom right side of my neck. It just refuses to cooperate with me.
