Thanked: 485Monday
First shave since Friday, and such a nice weekend. Bailey stayed round on Friday night, we played Avengers again. And even the dolls who weren’t Super Heroes dolls (like Yoda, Jessie from Toy Story and the Cookie Monster) were Super Hero Avengers.
Then on Saturday morning I walked from Waterfall Gully to Mount Lofty. This is a very popular walk completely overrun by mid fifties CEO types, with ridiculously expensive ‘out door’ attire, ridiculously ‘fabulously fit at 50’ bodies and the right amount of arrogance to go with it all. Anyway, I did my best to ignore them and leave them unharmed as I sipped a Corona (with lemon) and gazed at the beautiful view and golden light. I needed the Corona after the walk; it’s about 4 Ks to the top and a rise of 474 meters. It felt hard, anyway, for me. We did it in about 55 minutes to the top and the Corona and the annoying people…I wouldn’t mind doing this each week or each second week…
Today I honed all my razors, with the Burrell having ‘an aggressive pyramid’ on the Norton 4/8 followed by 10 on the Shapton 16k, with all other razors having just 10 on the Shapton. I did the first round (20 on the 4) with a slurry. I need to keep a honing journal.
The resulting shave with the Burrell left a nick. It’s really as sharp as I could ever want; but not smooth. Maybe 10 laps on the Shapton next week end? The Faulding ‘Shave’ cream was excellent with glycerine, I love the scent of this cheap cream and with glycerine it’s excellent. I haven’t checked out if it’s got Sodium Laureth Sulphate etc in it yet, but I’m crossing my fingers it doesn’t. I think it's better than some reviews would have one think.…
Joel (my youngest son) said I should tell my shaving buddies about the bows we’re getting. I want a Cartel Viper long bow, and he wants a recurve bow. I have no idea about bows. I think maybe a 45 or 50lb? We’re going to use them in the backyard and try not to kill the guy next door’s cows and sheep.
Hey, just found out I became a mentor. It’s a lot like the first time I got promoted in the Army. I feel very proud and honoured. I'm not sure I have any knowledge that any one would want, but I said I'd help out writing some stuff, I DO like writing...

Thanked: 1072Strop: MickR's Roo Hide
Brush: Silvertip Badger In Cocobolo
Soap: Proraso
Razor: Invicta 13/16
Astringent: Thayer's Original Witch Hazel
Balm: Nivea Replenishing
A/S: Proraso
Its been a while since I shaved 2 days in a row, but I picked up the Proraso after shave today and couldn't wait to give it a try.
I think I like it a lot. The menthol vibe of tonights shave was a little inappropriate for the cold miserable weather we are experiencing tonight but It will be a great combination come summer time.
The Invicta may be the finest shaver in my collection, a fantastic 2 pass BBS tonight.
Thanks for the great posts and pics gentlemen.

The Welsh invented the longbow Carl, and the Welsh Archers almost single handedly defeated the French army at the battle of Agincourt using that bow, it is traditionally made from the wood Yew found mostly in grave yards through out the UK, it also as a spiritual connection for the ancient Celts who belived it had the power to ward off evil spirits and help with their passage into the after life.
