    Sun:

    Rooney small style 1
    T&H LSS
    Hand American strop
    6/8 Wacker stippleback
    5/8 Kinfolks
    Taylor's Bay Rum A/S

Today I'm testing the new Tam O'Shanter hone I got from SRP member coully, which I used to hone two razors last night with input from Joe Chandler. Thanks guys!

The Wacker was only honed on the TOS, the Kinfolks was honed on the TOS and finished on the chrome oxide paddle. I used the Wacker on the right cheek and the Kinfolks for everything else. The TOS Wacker wasn't quite as smooth as the CO Kinfolks or quite as sharp, but it was a lot closer than I would have believed beforehand. The Wacker is very hard and is prone to microchipping and has always been a bear to hone. I've always had to give it a lot of laps on the boron carbide paddle to get the edge smoothed out before going to the chrome oxide paddle, but the TOS is a slow enough cutter and leaves such a polished edge that it didn't microchip and left the edge about as polished as the boron carbide, maybe even a little better. Both razors shaved beautifully. I love the kinfolks razor, I haven't found an american razor yet that didn't shave as well as the best of the european makes. Although the euro razors usually look nicer the american razors are all go and no show.

Some more experiments are needed, but I'm feeling some serious love for this hone.

    Monday:

    Rooney small style 1 brush
    T&H LSS
    Hand American strop
    5/8 Heljestrand
    Harris face milk

The 7/8 W&B Frameback was actually slotted for today in the rotation, but I bumped the little heljestrand up front just because it's such a dandy. Great shave too. I'll use the frameback tomorrow...

    King Silver 5/8 spike
    Vulfix 2197
    SCS New Spice
    Proraso A/S splash
    Proraso pre-post

I'm getting better with my stropping and shaving, which is allowing me to get more from the smaller/thinner razors in my collection. My favourite 5/8 so far is a Tower roundpoint that is a little meatier than a full hollow.

    Default Taylor-Day!!!

I don't even have to mention how the razor performed Today I used the C&E Sweet Almond Oil cream (worked up in the palm of my hand as my lathering bowl is being used for that Vetyver soap I created with Malizia and Colleen's formula samples). The cream performed extremely well. Too bad their soaps don't come anywhere near that level.
