Not sure if I am going to shave today or not....this head cold is killing me.

Related to nothing...my wife asked me to hone a blade for her today. It is a rolling razor that she uses for custom clothing production...I think she ran it over some pins or something. It sharpened up nicely though I did a test shave on a portion of my leg, then tried a HHT on one of her hairs LOL.

    Thumbs up

    Saturday

    No Prep
    Razor: Solingen
    Soap: Cella
    Mug: Staffordshire Scuttle
    Brush: "Barbershop"
    Aftershock: Alum block
    Splash: Royall "Vetiver"

Again doing it the old way, hot water in the scuttle and a chip of Cella in the well. I lathered with the brush and added water from the well. Between face lathering and the well I got a nice a nice shave. The wonderful edge just keeps serving on. Vetiver, was great. Interestingly Vetiver, a type of lemongrass, has totally different scents depending on where in the world it is grown.

The fun of trying things makes the day go a bit better and quicker!

    Thanks for a great week!

    Sat, Sept 22

Pre: Hot Shower, 10 Linen, 15 Leather
Razor: Hart 6/8" Square Tip with Rosewood Scales
Brush: Thiers-Issard Super Badger w/ Black Horn Handle
    Scuttle: Dirty Bird Brush Scuttle
    Soap: Mitchell's Wool Fat
    Post: Cold water and Alum
    Aftershave: Trufitt&Hill 1805

I slept in today hoping it will help a cold I got earlier in the week. I looked at my soap options. AoS Sandlewood, various scent samples from SRD, and then MWF. I remember getting MWF because I heard so much ranting and raving over it. I finally decided to break it open today. Very light smell which in itself isn't a bad thing. Sometimes aromas may not be what I want. It lathered like a dream, even with Rolla water which is like taking a shower of bricks in the morning. It provided more cushion than the soaps I have tried so far. It was a little different trying to load the brush from the ceramic dish it came in. Had to wipe my brush along the lid every so often to catch the jailbreaking suds. Overall liking this soap.
Shaving with facial hair is like a golfcourse. It's a challenge of rough and fairways. You are the skilled greenskeeper of your face?

First thing I did was after reading the latest posts was to check my anti-virus software. Since there are a couple of colds out there, one cannot be too careful. Hopefully you'll both be feeling better soon.

Richard (Geezer); Love that Scuttle. Fabulous looking floral design and scalloped edges.

    Today's Shave:
Warm shower, Stephan's rubbed into the whiskers
    Warm oil
    Dirty Bird Scuttle
    New Forest Badger
    Mama Bear's Rose Shave Soap
    Corvette Extra, 7/8, full hollow
Refresh on 12K Naniwa, Crox, SRD P1 Strop
    Razorock Aluminum
    Pinaud Bay Rum

Nice shave after refreshing the blade a bit. I had not shaved since Thursday morning and had a nice growth. The Corvette "raced" through the whiskers and gave a nice 2 pass shave. The Rose shave soap leaves the aroma of a rose garden.

Enjoy the day, the weather here in Northern NJ is wonderful.

It is amazing what a few hot towels will do for packed sinuses.

I had a late but wonderful shave today.
