Very nice looking stand Bill, looks as if it came with the razor.

    WEDNESDAY

    Hot shower prep
Razor: >1890 6/8ths+ Geo. Wostenholm "The Celebrated."
    Soap: Cella
    Mug: Pewter porringer
    Brush: Horse hair ~1900
    Aftershock: Alum block
    Splash: Vetiver

Been a while since I grabbed a large Sheffield. No pushing whatsoever to get the job done.

One of my very first tries at horn re-scales with home made washers, I still like its lines and shave quality.
The fun of trying things makes the day go a bit better and quicker!

    Cool Brrrrrr!

Prep: Proraso (green) washed off and re-lathered for 5-10 minutes
Razor: Glorious Communist China's Weishi Chrome
    Blade: generic Martymart (3rd use?)
    Aftershave: Stephan's Alpine Menthol

46 degrees. Switched over to C.O. Bigelow's rebranded Proraso to "celebrate" the colder mornings. My pre-pre-shave prep was using a delightful Port-O-Potty, luckily I had my trusty isopropyl alcohol sprayer and sanitized the seat. Even luckier that there was toilet paper (don't ask). Seems the same perv is parking in the lot every morning, someone should report that kind of suspicious activity (or maybe even report on that other dude shaving). Nothing but a few arboreal rodents for company and to witness the great Italian cream do its job. It's been a while since I've used anything but the Anthony Logistics for Men Unscented, but goshdarnit I've got to get my Proraso! The refreshing aroma of eucalyptus and camphor and the coolness of menthol complemented the cold morning air. The crappy antique boar brush made a much better, wetter lather for prep than the Anthony. This Proraso is great for a humble travel kit. Face felt tighter than usual. Even with the cold of encroaching Minnesotan fall it was a very good shave and bowel movement! Whoopee!

Thanks Carl! I don't foresee a lot of work being needed on the blade. This will be largely a rescale job.

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.
