Shave prep Morning shave, so a hot shower
Brush: D.R. Harris
Preshave: Proraso Pre
Soap: TGQ - Desert Iron Wood
Scuttle: Simple soup bowl
Razor: Wade & butcher 6/8 - 1/4 Hollow (regrind and blue Paua scales by Max)
Strop: Kanayama 20 canvas strokes and 60+ strokes on the leather
After Shave Splash: Nivea aftershave Balm
Notes:
I got just a tiny bit left of Colleen’s ‘Super Soap’, as I liked to call it. Sad that Coleen and her ‘The Gentleman’s Quarter’ hasn’t been able to cater us ‘soap junkies’ recently with her magic stuff! I read on her FB that there is change to come but we have to be patient.
The 'Desert Iron Wood' of hers is something else. When I first got it, it really got my eyes watering as the scent shot my memory back to unknown eras of long time ago. I don’t know what it is she put in there but I like it good. I hope she can continue her shop soon, as I grant her all the business we can provide her. Not the least myself, as my wooden bowl is running out...
The shave was super smooth as her soap has a fabulous cushion and glide. Always remarkable to see that the texture of the suds is ‘dull’ as compared to every other soap I have with the more common glossy surface.
Colleen’s magic did her work and the W&B did the rest.
