Pre: Hot Shower, Nivea Face Wash, Nivea Face Scrub
Soap: SRD Blood Orange
Brush: 20 mm Rubberset Silvertip Restore
Razor: Taylor's Eyewitness Max Sprecher Restore
Scuttle: SWK XL
Astringent: Dickinson's Witch Hazel
AS: Pinaud Clubman
Had a fantastic shave this morning. Nice long hot shower followed by a relaxing two pass shave. This was my first go with the SRD Blood Orange soap. It was accidentally sent to me and the good folks at SRD said "keep it." I'm a HUGE fan of tallow based soaps, but it's unusually warm today and I thought I would give it a go since I don't use a lot of citrus scents in the winter months. This is my first glycerin based soap, and I am thoroughly impressed. I prepped it just like I do with my tallow based soaps, a few drops of hot water before my shower. Loaded the Rubberset (a fun little restored brush I got off "the bay" a few months ago) without problem and whipped up a scuttle full of lather -- more than enough for two passes (and I'm sure more than enough for three+ if I had wanted). The Taylor's never disappoints. Haven't used used the Clubman in awhile, and I think it matched well with the Blood Orange soap. Overall, just a great eperience.
Have a great week everyone!

Music: from my youth,“Victory at Sea” NBC Symphony Orchestra
Hot shower prep Proraso pre-shave cream
Soap: C.O.Bigelow
Mug: Soup Cup
Brush:home made 24mm
Razor: Schick I1
Blade: NOS from AAFS
Splash: NOS “Brut”
Today: First real snow of the season a bit dreary and cold. I decided to make a Holiday of it all. The razor just joined my household and is a quite aggressive little shaver with the NOS blades. A really close shave was accomplished in two passes. The CO Bigelow and the Proraso pre-shave cream were a blessing on this rather blah day.
The BRUT was a great finisher! The double Latte Macciato you see, prior to stirring, was a good start for the rest of my day. The Luck of the day was to get the plow truck in the photo that was a timed exposure!!!
The fun of trying things makes the day go a bit better and quicker!
~Richard
May you all have a great week of personal success and good stuff coming your way.

Last week I shaved with these guys exclusively. It wasn't planned...but in retrospect it turns out I only used American made razors.
I like my Germans too, but I've been hooked on big steel lately.

I was excited on Friday to receive this new razor from CelcticCrusader (aka Jamie), who restored it with some beautiful honey horn scales. When I saw it posted for sale, it immediately grabbed my eye, but pictures cannot possibly do it justice. I'm sure all of you have seen how impeccable his razors look in the SOTD. And I am here to tell you that if this is any indication, a picture is definitely worth a thousand words!
The Iron Duke paired well with some DRH Windsor and a Manchurian Rover to give me a wonderful two pass BBS!
