Terribly sorry to hear of your loss. You are definitely in thoughts and prayers! This was a wonderful tribute, and I hope that it had the cathartic effect you needed!

Thank you for your kind words. I didn't mean to be a "downer" but felt like I needed to share. I was so looking forward to giving my brother his razor. I saw my other brother at Thanksgiving and he loves his. Most everyone I know doesn't understand my passion for straight razors and wet shaving. I thought my friends, especially my SOTD friends, would understand and appreciate the gesture.

You are in my thoughts today, the loss of a loved one is always hard..well, it is always hard to know what to say. May he live on in your memories.

I was trying to get my newly scaled Pipe Razor some glory but the edge was too harsh. So back to the Invicta which always likes doing it's job. I probably just need some more time on the hones for the Pipe Razor. Anyway, nice slow single multi-directional pass with a bit of clean up. The result was splendid and left me smiling.

    ShavingSrgn,
So sorry to hear of the sudden loss of your brother. What a wonderful tribute to your brother and a gracious gift to your nephew. I hope you can bear the loss and heal quickly, my prayers are with you and your family.

I was so excited to post my SOTD today. I was finally able to get a great edge on my Dovo Mammut razor and had a great shave. Unfortunately, as I was waiting to start my first case of the day, my nephew called to tell me that my oldest brother had past away last night in his sleep. He had just turned 60. I am the youngest of six children and I had always been his "little buddy." I was able to cancel my cases today and I'm not at home feeling very lost. I thought this post might help with the emptiness I now feel. I have been wet shaving for about a year now. I'm a straight razor guy, but love DE birth year razors. I've never used a DE, but have three models of my birth year razor. For Christmas, I bought my brothers, sister & brother-in-law birth year razors. In fact, I had gotten them out just this morning to mail off. Rather than posting a picture of my SOTD, I thought I would post a picture of the razor I was going to give my brother. It's a near mint, cased Gillette X-3. It's really a beauty. I will now give it to my nephew, my brother's only son. I already miss my brother so much I can hardly stand it. R.I.P. Harold.
Very sorry to hear of the loss of your Brother.
