This shave was beautiful! I never really strop much more than 20 strokes maximum and normally do around 10 to 15. The extra passes on the finishing hone and the strop have certainly made the difference. Cheers pal!
Glad that worked for you. I can't believe that you haven't tried Colleen's creams yet though...you sell the stuff!!! On the other hand I've been exporting Vergulde hand products and haven't really tried any of them either...and they're WAY less expensive than Colleen's stuff....even though Colleen's stuff is pretty decently priced.

    As for me:

    Shower
Lush Coalface Face wash..(I love that stuff. Buy a new block whenever my old on runs out)
    My wife's conditioner on face
    Kent 50/50 brush
    Euro Palmolive classic cream
Theirs Issard 7/8 Sheffield w Red Stamina scales
    Sanex aftershave balm

Pretty decent shave though. I tried once again to do two shaves in straight days in a row. It's not as good as when I wait a day though. It seems that my skin just has a little more time to heal when I wait. So I think I'll be doing that from now on.

I used Vegulde Hand a long time ago when I didn't know any better.
Believe me. Colleen's soap is in another league.
It's like comparing a Lada with a BMW.

They are both cars, they can both bring you from A to B, but man what a difference.

And don't get me started on Wilkinson soap cakes...
I am suprised they don't sell that stuff for degreasing engine parts

Good to know...I was thinking of buying a cake but I won't now...eventhough I do like the little container that they come in. Maybe I'll buy one afterall and replace the soap with Colleen's soap...

I have to admit that the container is nice, and well suited for traveling.
The only issue is that the soap fills the container completely.
So in the beginning, you'll spill a lot when brushing up lather.

I prefer to keep my mitts off the testers as I like to send them out to clients. You'll be getting some soon with your soap do don't encourage me or there will be none left

I will be trying some cream tonight though. I haven't tried any cream yet as I have been doing honing experiments over the last month or so and wanted to keep the cream constant as the type of cream can change how comfortable a shave is. Now the experiments are over for the time being and I have a sharp razor I can play around with some creams.

    true true.

"Never get high on your own supply"

    very true as well
I watched Scarface a while ago.....

Always curious about new things though. I'll be getting a cream and a soap from you, also a small tub of Highlander from a kind member who didn't really like it and then some samples as well? Sounds like my TGQ stack will explode instantly!

    Holland 1/2 hollow 5/8
    Proraso foam
    Alum
    Proraso A/S splash
    De Vergulde Hand ASB

I was in a bit of a hurry today so tried the Proraso foam in a can - while I had to apply some extra water to keep things hydrated, this provided a decent shave and was kind on the skin. While I won't use this on a regular basis, I'd do it again if I needed to shave (pun intended) a few minutes off of my morning routine.

    Tue:

    Rooney small style 1 brush
    Gold Dachs Spezial soap
    handamerican strop
    5/8 Puma #39
    Harris face milk

Got me smooth but I didn't really enjoy the shave. I fiddled with the edge and will try it again tomorrow.
