Thanked: 146Proraso|G5|Thater|Pannacrema|Aiku FBU|Proraso|Iggy's BalmWhen was the last time you guys were really excited about a razor, I mean as in when you first started with a straight. Today was one of those days for me and I would like to thank my friend Bill (LegalBeagle) for that generous gift! I received this razor yesterday in a trade we conjured up. I sent him a brush and stand and he sent me this razor. What a beautiful piece of steel it is, I have wanted to try a japanese blade for a long time, and Bill came through gangbusters! He honed the edge using a full progression on his Jnat hones and the edge is super smooth and deceptively sharp, that coupled with the Pannacrema soap and Thater brush made for an unforgettable shave. 3 passes and I am of to work on the last day before a long holiday weekend feeling like a king!

Thanked: 3Good morning y'all! Today I'm taking a play from IamSt8ght's playbook and posting my SOTD while I wait for my truck's oil to be changed. I used another DE setup for today's shave (in the interest of time, and to try a new set up):
Prep - hot shower
Soap - TOBS Grapefruit (can't get over the impressive lather and scent)
Brush - M&F 2XL in butterscotch
Razor - UFO Goliath XXL handle, FaTip polished head, and Gillette Silver Blue blade
Post - cold water, alum, Kiehl's lotion
EDT - Creed, Milessime Imperial
Have a great day!Oscar

Thanked: 247Tuesday - no shave, went to doctor and tested for flu. Test result - negative (copayment 30 dollars).
Wednesday - no shave, woke up dry heaving and fever of 101.7...seems like something changed since that negative result?
Wednesday afternoon call doc and get scrip for Tamiflu.
Thursday - feeling human again, but still not well. Must report this Tamiflu stuff seems to be worth the insane price.
Will shave this afternoon and I'm sure it will be great. A three-day-growth shave is always great
Sorry no new photos today.

Hot shower prep
Razor: Ground from WWII Herder blank
Soap: Supermax Ultra 3
Mug: English
Brush: Austrian boar
Aftershock: Allum block
Splash: TARR
The day? Great <7ºC. The Shave? Great It is dry in the house and I needed to add water a few times to get a lasting wet lather. The Super-max is a very good product! TARR is what Old Spice would be if it had balls! The old heavy razor did the job with no fuss in two passes.
The fun of trying things makes the day go a bit better and quicker!
