They say there's someone for everyone. Thirty years ago today, I married my someone. Living with me that long couldn't have been easy but somehow through all the ups and downs here we are still very much in love and best friends to boot. Pretty cool huh?

Pre : Hot water, Proraso pre-post green tub
Soap : Lather attempt #1, Arko. Lather attempt #2, Tabac
    Brush : Progress Vulfix 404
Razor : Gillette Superspeed flare tip
    Blade : Personna blue
    Post : Nivea moisturising balm
    A/S : Old Spice original

    Finish : Smooth, TFIO!

    Comments :
The goblin of shaving passed gas upon me today. The Arko soap just would not build a lather. No amount of resoaping, whisking etc would produce lather of any useable degree. The arko was given up, the brush was rinsed out and the Tabac soap was used. Even this was being stubborn, but it gave in eventually and produced enough useable lather. The arko soap is not in my good books at the moment.

Happy Anniversary GI! A hearty congratulations, in this day and age you two are a model we all strive for. My wife and I are at 28 years this year and in your situation also.

    TUESDAY
    Hot shower prep
Razor: Schwert rescued stainless steel 6/8ths medical WWII razor
    Soap: Palmolive
    Mug: Austrian
    Brush: generic badger
    Aftershock: none needed
    Splash: TARR

The Day? Cold and blustery,3ºC. The shave? close and clean in two and a touch. The big Schwert proved again that size, in this case, does not matter. The Palmolive is an ok, but not great, shave cream and does not let the face get raw. The TARR is a Romanian product, formerly German, and is definitely manly!
The fun of trying things makes the day go a bit better and quicker!

    Prep: Hot shower
    Soap: Williams Mug Shaving Soap
    Brush: AOS Fine Badger
    Razor: Thiers Issard 7/8
Strop: Illinion 827; SRD Prem I
    Post: AOS Unscented Balm

Result: My wife and I went to Monterey for the weekend. Monday morning this razor pulled like nobody's business. Did someone cut veggies or gut a trout with it while we were gone??? I may never know; however, a quick trip to the hones this morning and this razor shaved like a champ, like it's designed to. So, a simple and good, comfortable, close shave. I hope you all have a great Tuesday.

    Hot shower, warm oil
    Dirty Bird Scuttle
    Custom Badger Brush
    Lima Canela shave soap
Otto Fromm Special 72, 5/8 Full Hollow, horn scales
    Naniwa 4K,8k,12k, SRD P1 strop 50 laps
    Razorock Aluminum
    Pinaud Bay Rum
    Vaseline for men

I had trouble with this razor the other day when it began to tug during a shave. I took it to the hones for a few laps to get the edge back. It is now back to having a nice edge and gave a really nice shave. I received the shave soap from Bill last time I visited him in DC but forgot I had it. I really like the scent of the soap. I don't know what to compare it to, but it is really nice.

    Enjoy the evening.
