So, there I was arranging my stuff on the dining room table to take the day’s SOTD photo. As I was taking the picture, my smart arsed 15 year old son, who sat at the table on the laptop with hair pulled from his sarcastic eyes with one hand so he could look at me sarcastically, said, in a sarcastic manner, “How BORING Dad, why don’t you just use one of your OLD photos?”.

“Yeah”, said the wife, bit boring.

I said…well, you know what I said and took a couple more pictures.

    Then I got worried.

A creeping fear; a loathing; a foreboding crept up darkly from the aftershave bottle, tub of soap and razor positioned ‘artistically’ on the ‘artistically’ wrinkled piece of thick white paper and struck fear into my VERY heart, into my VERY soul.

“It’s so [expletive]ing BORING” I wailed (inside myself). "They’re right! Damn the critics, damn then all to hell!”.

The next ten minutes went like this:

THEM: Why don’t you do something different?
    ME: I’ve done everything
    THEM: What about that book?
ME: I’ve DONE books. Anyway, I’m not really reading that at the moment
THEM: That’s right, put a gun in it.. (as I reached for nicely patinated non-functional shotgun atop the dresser)
THEM: (again) What about Autumn leaves? (as I returned the shotgun to its place)
    ME: I’ve DONE Autumn leaves
    THEM: What about some flowers
ME: There are no flowers now and anyway I’ve done flowers
ME: (again) Is it too early for ANZAC day stuff?
THEM: Yes, they’ll think you’ve jumped the gun. What about one of your ink pens?
    ME: I’ve DONE ink pens…

Then I had an idea about some splatters, so here it is…

Oh, yeah, the shave was great…

Carl you may be the new Jackson Pollock of the shaving world.

    Prep: Hot shower
Brush: Rod Neep custom made, handle in Desert Iron Wood and extra stuffed silvertip 29 mm knot - Cheers Rod!!
    Razor: Edv. Neiström no 2
    Soap: LEA new formula stick
    AS: Floid Blue
    Strops: Neil Miller
    Result: Very, very clean

Fantastic brush, a little new funk, but it has such promise in it (dense, but with good flow through and good back bone, but still soft tips and soft enough knot for my liking). Razor was excellent too!
