Omega Boar of the cheapest Parker worked well for me starting out a few months ago. I got a ceramic pottery shaving bowl to use. Prorasco Green soap is good, RazoRock BrainFreeze, Arko Menthol, RazoRock Fresco and SRD lavender are the soaps I use. Biggest help to me is where people said to put some water onto the soap to soften it and to practice the lathering process. This helps the brushes break in and you learn about the lather. I had a ton of trouble lathering at first until I learned how much water and pressure to use. Now lathering is much easier! Also, make sure to get a variety of blades to try out, I tried over 15 blades and got 2 that work well and 1 that is OK, many of the rest were very painful!

I ordered omega boar brush with it. A couple samples of soap from srd. How do I learn to lather? A member is sending me cream to try as well.

You learn to lather by practicing doing it. Go to You Tube and search "making a lather with shaving soap". This is but one of many Lathering Tutorial - How to lather a shaving soap - YouTube
. Just takes practice to get it right.
