Default Trying to ID this DE

A friend of mine came across this razor and asked if I could help identify it. He said the only marking are a 3 under the base plate. I figure it's one of the many nameless DE's but I figured id post it up and see if anyone recognizes it.

Looks german to me. Is it possible it's a E and not a 3? Sorry for the stupid question.
A pic of it would help a lot.

Sure looks a lot like a Merkur 1904 (Amazon.com : Merkur 1904 Classic Safety Razor : Razors And Targetaudience Men : Beauty)

Yep! Looks like a Merkur 1904 or one of its clones. I'm not sure that the Merkur has any branding stamped on the razor, as I've not seen one 'in the flesh'.

Yup. It's a merkur 42c. I didn't realize they made the 1904 with a bar. It seems this was kind of a standard handle at one time. I've had a couple vintage DE's with the same look. Thanks for the help guys.
